Got his address etc. (although somehow he has managed to plead homeless to the police...) but need to see what sentance he gets/money I get back.....if no cash comes back I don't think seling the debt to the albanians sounds like a bad idea

TBH if I get my money back I'll be happy to leave it at that and hope he learns a lesson from it......I certainly have!! Lol.
See what happens though- I'm not buying this poverty cr@p as he clearly has (at the very least) MY money and who knows who elses!

I dont think piston heads will help - they will come out with some crap about not needing peoples details to use their site. my cavalier turbo was knicked - advertised on there about a year later (i wasn't looking for it by then) and they wouldntnt / couldnt give me the sellers details...

But like all say.. NEVER give money out unless it can be tracked.. Im glad you got your money back. Just a shame its so easy to scam people..

Still go burnthe ***** house down though - afterall he doesnt live there...

Great news, but don't count on getting your money back.

I was awarded £120 and £20 compensation once after an alteracation one evening after two drunks attacked my car, One was paying £1.20 a week and the other £0.26 a week. It took nearly 10 years to get the money!!!

They stopped paying plenty of times, a warrent would go out for there arrest, next time they were picked up, it would go back to court and then the money would arrive for a few months and then nothing again.

Well the sentancing came in and this scumbag got 18months supervision order (basically just to behave for 18months) and 100 hours unpaid work to carry out. £300 expenses to pay to the courts and £1400 compensation to me....

Although this seems like a result and although I have recieved the first £25 back some recent photos and feedback from drive-bys show this guy to be far from homeless or in poverty.....seriously p*sses me off how they get away with it.....

If it were me in your shoes now i would let the dust settle for a year or more, dont post online about it and let it be forgotten. We all know revenge is best served cold so if you have the mindset like me wait until the time is right then go down and take every possetion you physically can out of his house, garage apart from anything of his kids if he has any.

Or if your not that strong willed maybe a nice re-paint of his car with brake fluid or something similar it wont get you your money back but you will feel tonns better.

If I had send a cheque/cash atleast I would have an address to go by! Haha.
If any of you guys want to get in touch with him and get an address to "send cash to" that would be a great starting point...haha
Good on ya for getting him

thats crap

i sent money thru ebay / paypal for a prodrive spoiler

got ****ed about by the guy, not well, not in country, sending it, got lost in post, sent to another customer, damaged in transit

asked for money back went quiet, email address was a balloon company so tried that address , tel but no joy,

reported to police who said they couldnt do anything, speak to paypal

they said as it was over a certain time they cant do anything about it

so i lost £400 even tho I wassupposed to be protected by paypal until you read their T&C that basically is worth as much as writing it on loo paper and then wiping your *** and chcuking down the loo

This guy was lucky to catch the criminal. But a basic lesson on internet trading; NEVER use GIFT on paypal. Doesn't matter who it is; Don't do it!

And NEVER let a transaction take longer than 14 days from paying to delivery, claim a dispute, then if nothing happens after several workings days escalate it and claim for a refund ASAP.

Remember you only have 45 days to claim a dispute and 20 days to escalate it. These are outright maximums, not targets. Therfore you always seek refunds far far far sooner than these deadlines.

Don't listen to any delaying tactics/excuses; its just scamming. There is NO excuse not to be able deliver an item within a working week after payment has been taken.

Even if a person is legit, they should not accept payment or advertise an item if they cannot send it in a timely manner. Recently we've had a guy faff round with selling a turbo for 7 weeks; which is totally unacceptable IMO, and people were daft enough to keep waiting FFS!!

As above. As a seller, I would never ask for/accept anyone's money untill I was in a position to post the item within a day or so. It's just good practice and common courtesy. As a buyer, I expect prompt delivery when I cough up the dough.

AND NEVER PAY VIA GIFT ON PAYPAL!!!!!!

mostly a good result i guess!

I had something similar one xmas when the xbox360 hd drives were selling like hot cakes
the bloke reckoned he had 10, but i never recieved one..

anyhow all ended up at court but he did plead guilty, reckoned he did have 10 (had good feedback before i brought etc), and another 10 spose to turn up so he 'sold'them before he had them...

anyhow ended up getting the odd cheque every few months, pretty much lost count what i got back in the end but it was pretty much what he'd done me for

have you recieved any more since?
