Here is the summary of product characteristics for carboplatin

http://www.medicines.org.uk/EMC/medi...nous+Infusion/

section 4.8 is most relevant to you.

Is she having this as a single agent regimen or is she having this alongside another product, such as paclitaxel?

I can show you the way to some docs that may be useful

As it is for uterine, may I ask if she is undergoing therapy as part of a clinical trial?

Anyway, I refer you to the two documents....

Chip, sorry to hear about your wife. My dad had radiotherapy every day for 6 weeks, 6 years ago this year.

She will have days where she is to the point of absolute exhaustion, feeling sick and throughly down. But it will pass - honest!

Lots of advice on here re the side effects etc, so I thought i'd add the following:

Dont let her use perfumed soaps etc whilst she is having the radio - the skin can react like a giant burn and can be really sore - particualrly as the treatment progresses. The 'Simple' range is unperfumed and is great stuff - you can get it in Boots etc. E45 cream on the area can help too.

Loose clothing made of cotton or silk to help avoid friction on the area helps.

And dont let her expose the area to the sun during treatment or for a year after.. factor 50 all the way after that
