I was once up against one from rolling at about 15 mph.
I was in my old 96 WRX running 313 bhp.Now i'm assuming we where both in second gear here but we both nailed it at the same time as i heard his engine note change as mine did.Upto about the top end of 3rd gear i was edging ahead of him but by the end of 4th i was well away.I was very impressed by it in the first instance because if he had 300 it would have been a different story i'm sure.
BUT i'd still have a Focus ST

Think your comment was a bit of wishfuil thinking frankly.
The best of your bunch is the 330 at 219hp/ton. The Type R is 223hp/ton, probably more as I think it weighs less than the standard 4 door.

i have destroyed many astra vxr's even when my type r was standard so your type r has either lost a lot of power or the vxr has gained a lot of power

It's not wishful thinking, just plain fact. Subaru currently make four hatch models that would leave a standard VXR for dead. Even the slowest of them beats the Vauxhall to 100 mph by around 2 secs and a point to point on a B road would be no contest. Either the Type R in question is not the car that it was or the VXR has been modified, making it even more unpleasant to handle.

i encounterd, one a couple of years ago, in my 93 wrx, the vxr seemed very quick but once i passed him, i pulled around 3 car lengths on him.. .so I think it will of been fettled, Also I have driven 2 vxr's and although quick i didnt think there was anything more performace wise over any imprezas. Just my opinion of course

Ah, love it!
My cars faster than yours argument.
Both the VXR and scoob of various guises are good fast point to point cars, it has a lot to do with driver, and state of tune more than anything.
I have played with VXR's on the road, but my car is almost 300kg lighter, and 100bhp over a standard VXR, not to mention all the suspension mods, so it wouldn't be fair to claim VRX's are slow based on my experiences. One day i'll meet a tuned up one, and get my **** handed to me!!

I had a race with one about 6 weeks ago, both rolling at 40 I dropped into 2nd and we both floored it and honestly he wasn't that much quicker, over the lenth of maybe half a mile he pulled 4 maybe 5 car lengths ahead and thats it.
Came to the twisties and I was all over his bumper like poo to a blanket.
Saying that unless I was high up the revs he was gone like a bullet and I was left for dry.
Kinda thought wow they are rapid and I need alot more power, like 350+bhp!!!

Once you start tuning them, well it's whoever throws the most money at them.
I'd love to have a play with one, but on a public road its more about risk and who cares about his car, the public, and his license the least

ive got both a vxr and a scooby and when r lass and i have a play the vxr certainly keeps up !! the vxr is quick in a straight line but scares you round the twisties wouldnt like to think of having 300 gee gees under its bonnet lol i feel more safer with 300 and awd lol both good cars though!!
