Hey Markus is getting into bikes! about time...
Been riding errrrmmmm 12years... doh!
Currently got a CBR... only the 900...
Insurance is ridiculas on bikes but you should be fine on a 400..
I had a GSX400RR for a couple of years which was lovely...
There are some nice 250cc bikes too like then RGV250 etc..
I haver come in too late to add anything on use, or that hasn't been said already.. so good luck!

I also passed my bike test in '97 by direct access. Recommend that method no end.
BTW - my GSXR600 is for sale at the mo . It was my first bike after I passed my test. I thought about going the 400 route but I'd have wanted a change pretty soon for something quicker/bigger. I'm glad I made the choice I did.
