Car looks fantastic.
Thinking of going down a similar route with my car, I have the the same car as you.
I have read a few posts on this thread and have seen a few people saying that you are crazy for spending that kind of money but what they need to realise is that everyones position is different and what seems a lot to one person may not be that much to someone else. I work very hard and earn good money, but that money is mine to spend on what I like and what I like is cars. I own my house, have no mortgage but this has not come easy like I said I work very hard and very long hours.
I had a Golf R32 which I got supercharged, one of the first Mark 5s to be done, cost me a lot of money but was pretty unreliable and had a lot of ecu issues. The money was not the issue, the unreliabilty was. Turned a great car into a bad one and I pretty much gave it away to get rid of it. I need a reliable car, simple as that.
I have no problem in spending the money on a good build but what I demand now is that it has to be top quality and I want to know that it will last and not give me any problems, that is why Rcm looks the way forward to me.
I had put down a deposit on an r8 before I bought my Hawkeye but in a similar thought to you I want something different and have always wanted a Subaru, now I want mine to be special, just like yours.
Well done mate.

Frayz and Clive (skullfudge) are dead right,RCM are very good, very particular, don't miss things, use all the best parts, that are tried and tested and their attention to detail is second to none
Pay peanuts you get monkeys.
Enjoy your car Chris,my engine was built by RCM nearly 6 years ago and has been great ever since.
This STI was the 1st Subaru as far as I know to have a rotated turbo over 6 years ago and has been running over 500bhp since with no problems,it was one of the cars featured on the front cover of the 1st issue of Total Impreza magazine.

Nice
I wish I lived nearer. It's 3 hours for me. If the roadworks are evident of big traffic can be 4 hrs
Just taken mine out for a blast as it hasn't been out much since Nov. I'm entered in The MLR 30-130 in 2 weeks time which is the first event of 2011 and also the fastest event of the year, so I just need to make sure hoses and the like are ok.
It also reminded me that 500+ is just tooooo much for the streets
What used to seem like long roads are now extremely short.

No point in applying reason to expenditure on modifying a car. It never makes financial sense and the more you spend, the less sense it makes lol.
The simple rule is: if you want to do it and you can afford it, go for it!
The other simple rule is that reliable power costs. I've just had a 450+bhp conversion done to my hawkeye with APi and spent, let's not be too vulgar and discuss the exact figure, and just say a five figure sum! The number of people who will say "way too expensive - I know a place that'll do it for 50% cheaper". As soon as you interrogate them, you realise that they're only referring to the cost of the short engine. When you explain about the cost of the ancillaries required to exploit a forged engine build, they suddenly go quiet!
Enjoy it mate!!

Had a great visit to RCMs new premises, and what a place it is. Thanks to Olly for the VIP tour and all the guys I bumped into during the visit. Nice to meet you again chunkb car looked fantastic as always.
Any how the point of the trip was to try out another back box. I have ended up with two back boxes the one RCM fitted and the team ice. The team ice will be used for road use and the much quieter system will be for track use, Result really pleased with the sound anti lag sounds so much better firing out of the team ice.
I have also fitted Blob rear light which have really cleaned up the look at the back of the car. (Hawkeye lights are now for sale)
