That is a nice Hawkeye and I am sure that after it's trip to RCM it will be a really nice car to drive, one thing for sure you and RCM and not doing a 'half-way' job either. :thumb: |
Looking forward to seeing it done. Let us know if you need help with cutting the roof vent etc :thumb:
|
Great looking car there mate! :thumb: Sounds like it's going to be a very quick road car with that spec! Must have cost you quite a bit? Looking forward to seeing more of it in 10 weeks! :D

This car will be a cracker when its finished but it won't be cheap :) PS 10 weeks can soon turn in to 6 months but i bet it will be worth the wait ;) |
Sorry dude, but I dont get it, 20k- 30k-50k !!! fair dues if you got he spare cash lying around or your doing it for tax purposes....
But I'm sure if you started with a JDM Spec C it would cost half as much and settle with 400 of a standard block with some internal work it would be one hell of a road car..... I may get slammedfor saying this but I couldn't justify 50k on a WRX or any scooby unless I was doing the time attack or similar, a very decent 2nd hand spec C 17k throw 10k at it I'm sure you would get good figures, enough for the road and any track and for every day use. Hell i just looked up Litchfield Type 25 are £35k OTR http://www.type-25.co.uk/prices.asp#6 :freak3: No offence to you mate just what I think. |
I agree with you guv .When it comes to having to or wanting to sell it dammm that's when the pain kicks in.As you say just waht i think,Good luck.
|
Fair point guys, each to their own. My plan like many of RCM customers (rich WRX included) is to keep this car for ever its only going to be used as a 2nd car and it will replace the needed to keep buying new fast road cars and have them devalue and waste thousands everyday in fuel. I am sure that my dad has wasted more money buying fast BMW with the devaluation over 3 or 4 cars than this car will cost to build and run over that period.
I looked into buying a spec c as the project car but Pease of mind of knowing what the car has done is more important to me. Anything that’s good about a spec c can be replicated or surpassed. I want a car that’s going to be very reliable and have a real fun factor that’s why I am willing to pay the premium to have it done to the highest level using the best parts available. |
Fair enough dude, It will be one hell of cars when its done, good luck:thumb:
|
Awesome spec & it will be an incredible car! If you'v got the money then enjoy & as you said there's not much better out there than RCM. I would love to get a RCM build.
But I also tend to agree with Guv & Big Fud on this one: Std Hawkeye Spec C £17k Exhaust/Intercooler/Clutch/Ancilleries etc £3k Litchfield new twinscroll full turbo kit £5k Extra bits & bobs £1k Total £26k apprx & you can get 460bhp plus, twin scroll power in a 1400kg, pin sharp, Spec C which already comes with the JDM 6 speed box. |
i am sure if i could have bought a spec c from new when i bought the wrx (age 22) then i am 100% with you. the only way to keep the car i have looked after and gain more power is to go for a full build. i did look at spec c jdm but didnt like any of them, they had all been modded etc etc.
|
Fair play, there's nothing like owning & keeping a brand new car IMO.
|
thats stunning just now
u will be like a kid a crimbo when u get it back |
there is more than a few owners out there who have spent 20k plus on thier cars only to have nothing but problems \ major failures - scoobynet is full of these horror stories, i for one am sure that a 500 bhp capable car can not be done on the cheap
like everything in life you pay your money and take your chances but I am sure this car will be perfect in everyway and the owner will get just what he asked for :) |
