For me the real issues aren't going to be addressed, the biggest of which is why we live in country where a party that polls 35% of the vote can end up with a majority of 60 seats! One of the reasons so many people are disenfranchised is that their votes simply doesn't matter, it only matters for the few who live in key marginal constituencies, why is there no outcry about this? Where is the real alternative view, why aren't people marching on Westmisnster demanding real democracy?
Look at the differences in the economy when each party has been in power. Don't forget that we are within a cat's whisker of bankruptcy and losing our triple A credit rating. Ask yourself what happened to the very strong economy which NL inherited but disappeard after 4 years of their rule! How much better would our position be if that economy had been maintained instead of being thrown away on useless waste and also if the FSA been forced to deal with the bankers greedy mistakes in order to enrich themselves instead of kow towing to them.

How do you feel about the destruction of GB and the gift of our country to the coming federation and the consequent loss of our democracy?

Seems like a "No Brainer" to me!

Neither, hence my 'ridiculous statement' which is probably the way a large slice of the electorate are thinking too. Are they also ridiculous & deserving of your contemptuous sneering ?

Despite all the spin, politicians on both sides actually have done quite a lot of good for this country and their local communities. What have you done?
Now this is a ridiculous statement ...

Something Martin has said that I agree with...

Coming from the Eastern Counties which is primarily Blue in colour - it is a little frustrating that my vote - which I will admit will be Blue, doesn't really matter, as their majority in my constituency is so overwhelming my vote is a bit meaningless and doesn't really add anything to the big "**** OFF LABOUR" banner I'd like to wave

Now this is a ridiculous statement ...

So the justification for your ridiculous statement is that lots of people feel the same way? That's it? No independent thought process of your own?

On your second point I take it you don't do much for the greater good of your community. On the other hand you are prepared to label lots of people who do as not worthy of 'the steam of your ****'

There are bad MPs out there, but plenty of good ones who do plenty of good

Things that I have questions about that I'd like a political party to answer..are..

The tax I pay to what I get back for it.... (being the person mentioned above)

Boarder controls seem poor, why are we not eye scanning/finger printing everyone entering the country and counting visitors IN/OUT... like in the USA

Can we move away from the title TREASURE ISLAND BRITAIN.

Political correctness and data protection loop holes that have gone OTT

What can be done about the unemployed and more important the unemployable!
also all those on long term sick that don't get added to the above unemployed figures.

there a a few more things but I'll start with these, so who can answer the above to make me vote for them?

Phil
I have to take offence at the border control comments as I see it a lot on here

I work 'in the job' and you truly cannot appreciate the political red tape/rules/regulations that prevents us from making informed and educated decisions. It is not 'Immigration Officers' that are letting in these 'undesirables' but rather governmental policy.

In its most simplified form, if a person meets a set criteria, answers his questions correctly and is a national of the 'right' country we are bound by law to allow passage. Its the government that is responsible for Immigration Law not civil servants!!

And to 'scan/fingerprint' everyone coming into the country is a physical impossibilty. Millions and millions of people enter (and leave) this country every year and I personally work in a location that is severely understaffed. Speak to your MP's and stop having a pop at us!!

Until the government changes some of its Immigration policies and stops making it so 'lucrative' for asylum seekers to come here, this 'plight' will only continue........

Thankyou and goodnight.

Rant over.

The only way is to make the NL candidate give you a good listening to you when he knocks on your door trying to get you to vote for him.

Just make sure you ask all the awkward questions and also that he is forced to answer them.

He will disappear down your front path at a trot!

in the end it's an irrelevance who you vote for

what is important is to "ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country"

For me and the wife it's a straight forward Labour vote. As will be the case with all our other family members. Why? Well we are in a very very strong Labour area and quite frankly they have done a bloody good job here. All the things that are important to our every day lives have improved, in the last 10 years in perticular. I know many will read that and think it's a wind up, but we can only vote for what we see as being best for us, that being another term under Labour.

How do you feel about full federation with those fellows over the water and what it would mean for us?

Do you think it would be a good thing for our country to keep it independent so that we can run it for ourselves?

Though I completely disagree with your politics (I am fundamentally a Tory) I fully respect the fact that you have an opinion. If you feel Labour has been beneficial to you, your family, your community etc then thats the way to vote.

Much better that then the sheep who go around bleating that they are all the same and that they can't be bothered to put a X on a piece of paper.
