Designed a bit vinyly emblem'age made up for Uxbridge Auto Show! Not quite as snug a fit as OEM but I like it for now



And a bit of blingage!!

The pink stars emblem is being replaced but I think Il eventualy go back to it.
Tony theres nothing like a twin scroll though, do miss the Spec C

Yup chalk n cheese between the Spec C and the Type R, both good in their own ways but the Spec C just feels more planted, oh well, roll on tomorrow get the test drive (like I need one ) just to make sure this one is good (ishe is an MY04 limited, in the best colour )

Not sold the R yet, have a few bits left to finish then she will go would love to keep em both but just cannot afford it tbh (will see if we win the euro millions next week )

I had all those toys too inc xenons, Im sure they dont weigh that much! I think one day I would like to own a JDM Hatch Sti or Hatch Spec c. Failing that another Hawkeye Spec C with some litchfield fettling this time

Thanks to Sid for getting the replacement relay/wiring for my HID kit & thanks to John for showing me how to fit it the first time round, as Iv just refitted it & all working fine now.
Im getting pretty good at 'not' bodging things these days!! lol

Spoke too soon!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
Got rid of silly JDM add on rear fog & connected fog wire to drivers side reverse light instead. But seemed to have bodged something up as very faint light/power to bulb now

John where are you, Im comming round later!!!!!!!!!

Horn is now wired in and working, and fog light is correctly wired up

For those who are curious, hella supertones are actually louder and significantly less gay sounding

Done a few niggly bits recently:

Finally sorted out HID's & made up an aluminium cover plate to hide all the wiring & wiring etc for the Stebel Horn. Thats also now wired up, cheers John for help in connecting up.

Fitted a couple silicone hoses here & there, still need to fit turbo inlet hose.

Sprayed & fitted some solid rear droplinks, much more positive feel at rear end since, that coupled with new rubber in the form of Goodyear Eagle F1's. Thanks Maggy.
These are pretty meaty for the std classic arches, with 225/45/17 on a 7.5 wide alloy.
Got my Rota Torques fitted at last with my new shiny blue nuts

The droplinks I bought second hand are sh*te & being binned, ordering some new proper ones, the HID kit has also been removed & will also probably be binned & Im relocating the horn behind the offside inner wheel arch..............aaaaaaaaggggggghhhhhhh!!

Saying that Iv already rewired the old lights; relocated the Horn into new position (just need extend the 4 wires to reach down into arch...cough cough John!!) & slackened off droplinks to stop the incessant knocking until new ones arrive.

CDF Racing - Recommended

Bought some rubbish second hand droplinks of fleebay which were absolute sh&te & kept rattling, knocking & working themselves lose. Needed replacments before this weekends meet. Phoned CDF yesterday, got a good price for some solid rear droplinks & I asked if they could get it delivered to me by today so that I can have it in time. As promised package arrived this morning, quality bit of kit, all fitted & a good price too.



NB: There's not really much left to do on the Type R now apart from fitting my gauges & getting a Vtld front lip spoiler.
Maybe an adjustable rear ARB, maybe a few more silicone hoses & thats it really.
In an ideal world I would like to go for bigger brakes & flashy suspension & eventually a forged rebuild with bigger turbo etc, but I dont think I will, as these are big £££ mods. Instead in a couple of years time, I would rather use that money switching to another Hawkeye, either a std/mildly modded JDM Sti or a forged, built UK Sti.

As you all may know the car managed to fry its super fragileV5/6 MAF sensor within 3 months of purchase & left me stranded in Harrow! Anyway Subaru will sort out refund for that in due course no doubt

But its all sorted now thanks to Rich aka Fiestaboy who I got on the mobile as soon as it happened & helped diagnose almost straight away,...who needs AA/RAC! Anyway I put the old ECU in & got it back home.

That same day I managed to get hold of the much stronger & better Q45 MAF that is only availiable in the US. How, through one of our own MSOC members, Stephen Benyon who immediately offered to give me his, which he just got from the US for his car. He even offered to drop it off that evening!! Big thanks Stephen, Im gona order yours from the US today mate.
Thats what this club is all about IMO Happy to return the favour mate

Today I popped into Lateral Performance, got a new Cosworth panel filter to replace the dubious HKS one. Rich came & fitted with new MAF in its bigger 90mm housing & then we spent the afternoon mapping for Airflow/fueling etc again. Several top end pulls later & the car is running even better than before, it seems to pull boost quicker & hold for boost longer. An even better Map than before I reckon Rich. The Q45 Maf being a lot harder to fine tune than the std Maf, but credit due for a great job. Next week we'v a bit of tweeking planned to finish off the Map, especially for lower gear stuff etc.

Looking forward to the Dyno Day to see what the car is making & hopefully will be a good testamony for the newly founded "FB Tuning"

I need to find some time to get Rich to tweek my map. Saw some boost fluctuations in 5th on Sunday, but when we looked at the tables for boost correction we didn't pull the same figures in 5th gear during the original remap
