Couple of other things too, most bit stops the bloody lolly pop man holds me there while cars come down the pit lane, whats that all about, happens every dam bit stop?!?!?

Also, what are the "ghost" cars about on the track, which you seem to be able to drive through?
holding the lollipop is a rule in f1 , waiting for safe release pit a lap earlier or later

aye manual I hate using auto gears in any game and you get an advantage changing gear when you want to change gear Same goes for modulated throttle n brakes using a pedal set. You can't achieve the samething on a pad or keyboard and to some extent a joystick

I have also had the weird ghost cars racing around the track
To be honest, the more i played the game, the more it started to **** me off.
I swear the AI drivers "rubber band" to catch you up if your doing well, i hate that.

Punted my xbox copy on at the games shop, wont bother buying the pc version.

My favourite trick is not pitting until the penultimate lap after starting on the more grippy option tyres.

The only rule I don't understand is how I receive warnings for blocking or dangerous driving when someone collides with the back of my car. I can be further ahead than Hamilton was from Webber at Singapore, get collected, and still get a warning

The list of cheating bugs the AI has is shocking! It is bad enough the qualifying is faked, damage doesn't effect AI, crashes are scripted etc. But now there are reports the AI even cheats in racing. Also read on the forums that some of the bugs where reported by their QA's but nothing was done about it.

But on the other hand, the AI opposition in GP2/3/4 was **** poor in comparison to F1 2010!

Is the PS3 version different?

I'm wildly disappointed, it is so easy.

First race with lotus with no aids whatsoever, practise 1st, qualy 1st, race 1st.

just for ****s and giggles i tried the next race in melbourne with the automated "wet" settings, on a dry race.

practise 1st, qualy 1st, race 1st.

not to mention I was 3rd in malaysia after qualifying pole, shunting into the wall and losing the front wing after my first pitstop, drove the rest of the race with no front wing.

It shouldnt be possible to win a race and qualify first in a lotus.

or are there some "hidden" settings somewhere to actually make it proper hard.

Are you using AI on legendary (faking) You scroll further down when you change the aids to find the AI level. Also you can have the fuel and tyres wear on/off. One thing though, fuel will massively impact your performance. Someone people say it's a bug but it appears the car needs to be setup right to have the fuel on. People are using in car youtube videos of real races and data from the f1 websites to get the gearing right.

You must not be on the hardest setting surely.

You have obviously got the difficulty set as easy. No way you could win on legend with a lotus!

I can beat the legendary AI (including the top teams) with the lotus with everything on hardest, no aids but tyre/sim switched off. The game is so flawed with bugs the only payable part of the game is time trailing, I'm going for top 100 on every track.

It would appear that my initial spidey sense was correct, this is just Dragon Rising all over again, will be very surprised if this gets any post game support a few months down the line.

Be prepared then ...patch work is currently in progress, due in approx 2-3 weeks time.

To those complaining re: AI ...as mentioned above, unless you're playing something designed to run on a Kray, virtually ALL game AI is scripted ...it only swap's to a physical content when triggered (usually a set physical distance) ...if video games didn't do this they'd all be running at 3-4 fps ...apologies, as I now feel like i did when i told my younger brother that Father Christmas was really our mum & dad sneaking things out of the garage/ loft!

Hmm.. AI difficullty was set to Professional, now on Legend, it's more like it.

Finished 10th in Shanghai after qualifying 8th. Spun it in the wet

Still easier than it "should be" IMO, but I can't win races or qualify pole anymore with the Lotus. Atleast not in Shanghai.

Yeah Dragon Rising had IIRC 2 patches? although one of them was tripe and started overheating graphics cards, total garbage and the project was dropped soon after.

Like i said, 3 months down the line i bet its dead.

The game stinks of being rushed out before the end of 2010, i bet 2011 is a much more polished rehash of this game.

FWIW the AI in LiveforSpeed does not cheat and it runs on a pretty lowly system to be fair, the more laps the AI does in that game, the better it gets.

I appreciate AI might be scripted but CM need to be less obvious! If CM ever wants to make an F1 movie then they already have the perfect action script for the races

Finally got around to playing some online quick race sprint. Usually dodgem cars on first corner. First race I got smashed from behind spun around and then got hit and give a 10sec penalty for my troubles. Still managed first but 10 sec penalty pushed me down to 3rd. When will the manage to get online racing penalties working properly.

Noticed when you watch a replay your car isnt even touching the ground.

And the online ranking is pap. Finish a race and see rank 10. Global leaderboard shows 6 so about 3 races old.

I race on rFactor quite a bit and I have had F1 2010 on order for some time. Arrived on launch day, installed did a few laps, very unimpressed. Massive lag on gear changes (+0.3 sec I would say).

Waited a few days and did some reading up on the net, turned off the surround sound s/w and it was a lot better.

But I am still very uphappy with the cars. The throttle maps are no where near right and I really doubt that any of the F1 drivers who were involved with the R&D have driven a well set up F1 2010 car on rFactor as its like night and day.

I guess CM did not want to go 100% sim as they would maybe make it too difficult for a lot of people to control the cars who only have a pad.

Would have been nice to have a sim mode.

Anyway, I will still play it now and then - but wont put as much time into it as I thought I would.

The only thing that I thought was very good are the sound effects. 10/10 there on that for me.

The rest of the game, 5/10 at best.

Anyone who wants a 'proper' sim racing game, I sugget www.iracing.com - they're about to release the Williams F1 car too, and it looks simply amazing.
