Yes, i can imagine thats enough to temp you somewhat Dunx. Fancied a skyline myself prior to buying the WR1 but ended up staying loyal to subaru.

J d what is your spec list as i might do a few more mods Turbo injector etc what do you suggest im running 350Bhp at moment with Aps 3.5 zorst decat ,remaped cold air intake uprated topmount ! Want to get it 400-420 should i run higher boost when remaped again what is a safe level psi ?
Woza - I've been running 422bhp / 400lbs torque @ 4,200 rpm (without additives) on my wr1 with standard internals for over 14k miles. I did not have to upgrade on my pink injectors as there was no probs getting the figures I got - Pat Herborne mapped mine.
Mods carried out:
sc46 turbo
fmic
full decat - 3"
custom induction kit
uprated inlet pipe
3 bar map sensor
solaris ecu
The sports cat works up to 360 but at the 400 level it was burning apart!

Lets say there's not many std 2 ltr blocks out there hitting 400lbs of torque at 4,200 rpm at the 400bhp power level without usage of e85/additives etc. SC46 is good but must admit I was fortunate enough to have had a very good overall set up (more important than just the turbo itself) as well as a master mapper and his solaris (syvecs) ecu! I think my block is a pretty tough one too!

No I appreciate you require supporting mods to assist this turbo make the power. I meant more specifically, like spool up/Lag compared to the VF35?
Syvecs is the route im taking also mate

Red lines without 3 bar map sensor, blue lines with.
You're making the right choice on the Syvecs mate. The calibration switch is a must which gives you the switchable maps at a touch of a click!
No mate - it's the original sc46.

doesnt look bad at all mate, its not that much different to the VF. Yeah, switchable maps is a nice little feature. Im thinking one on pump fuel and maybe one on meth mix?

Indeed mate but I need to try out something else first!

If the WR1 and STI engines are the same, thought the key advantage over a WRX engine was the forged pistons, but all else the same?
I have clearly missed something, as pistons alone dont allow for that difference over a WRX engine?
