I wont be in my car for the TR unfortunately as I've just found out my wheel bearing is just starting to let go and with saving up for having my coilovers fitted its just not a brilliant idea but I will be jumping in with Andy (lagamorph) who has the same coilovers as I've just bought.
my sti bug has a tapping sound (sounds like a dry tappit) @ 2000, gets less as you accelerate, stops around 4000, after driving for about 6 or 7 mins the tapping sound has totally gone, and she sounds sweet.
to me it is as if the oil pump isnt working properly from cold, Any ideas anybody? also worried im causing damage to the cams,

I find scoobys noisy anyway and when I first get in and start the motor I'm sure the engine is about to die on me . You say it disappears at higher revs, could it be something daft like a heat shield on the exhaust?

Oh ok thanks, the problem is my wrx was so dam loud you cant hear the motor, so i dont know if it is normal or not!! But because of the std exhaust (yuckkk) you can hear every single rattle and nock, i have to say that after a 3.5mile tootle to work this morning the noise was almost gone....
Hopefully just "new parent syndrome" and nothing to worry about
