Anyone owned a classic wrx or classic turbo2000 and moved onto a blobeye wrx?

Just wondered how the two compare. I was set on getting another classic but seen quite a few wrx blobs pop up lately within my budget.

Obviously the newages are a lot heavier and was just wondering how that compares to power and feel of a classic.

Stick to what Subaru recommend if it isn't using any oil or isn't modded, 10w40

I always use Millers fully synthetic oils but a quality semi synthetic oil is fine too.

Fortunate enough to own both.

If its the take the car out and scare yourself you are after, that excitment of driving it then classic. If its a usable quick car with the noise etc then newage.
Newage is a better daily driver and classic a better weekend car imho. I have an continue to use both for either but thats how they slot easily.
Newage is better built, more sound proofing and less rattles, except rear shocks that knock.

I would go sti newage if you can. Just a better sorted brakes, suspension and power car out of the box.

I suspect many people would be quicker point to point in a newage but would have a bigger grin in the classic.

Thanks Simon, great response Hmm I think I might continue for a classic sti or nice wrx then unless I see a cracking deal on a newage sti.

The car will be mainly used as a weekender as I don't need a car often in the week and I do miss the fun aspect of a classic.

Hi guys, just a quick note to let you all know I have now left the club.

I would like to thank everyone who made me feel welcome, I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a WMI member.

Unfortunately sometimes in life certain things are beyond our control, and as a result I wouldn’t ever feel comfortable going to any more meets…

Keep enjoying the Scoobys and drive safely all..
All the very best.
Dave.

That's a shame, only new to the club so haven't really met anyone yet but would have been nice to meet you at a meet.

Hope things that went down weren't too serious

On a personal note Dave im sorry you've made this decision, but im sure you have your reasons and i think you'll be sadly missed.

You take care and we'll hopefully see you again soon.

I had an attempted break in a couple of months ago so had to get a new bit of trim around the doors. After I had that fitted I had a bit of a water leak so I'm taking it to my bodywork guy to get it straightened out and sealed properly.

pics of the stickers and new bonnet (sprayed by moi, first time spraying with compressor and air gun) not 100% sure on the colour so MAY be changing it, opinions are more than welcome good and bad.

get the panel a bit warmer and a bit closer with the gun, fair play for having a go, wrap it instead, thats good fun too.

how much closer would you recommend. as said this is the first time i have used compressor and gun setup. not bad for my first attempt i think. i got the vinyl, tried it but kept messing it up so gave up as the cheapest quote i got for the labour was £100 (with young one and one on the way about £100 to much lol)

http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/spray-technique.htm

having done my own wrapping i can understand why they charge what they do it's very time consuming.

It may be very time consuming Mark but you seem to have done a very good job of it, your car looked brilliant on the tunnel run

Evening all.

Shame to be losing a member, but I'm sure there are reasons.

Hope everyone is doing alright otherwise
