afternoon guys, anyone up to much? Bit fed up as the scoob is sat in my garage broken, cant even get the motivation to go out and start looking at it never mind doing any work on it / fix it. Luckily for me got a company car for a few days while i concider its future and if it really is worth pumping more and more money into it

Everything H, as you know i've got turbo woes but just waiting to hear back from pole position about the twin scroll they've got in, ive got a broken/damaged gear box mount by the feel of it, warped front brakes and a gear box on the way out by the way it is trying to crunch 4th gear and now 3rd when at speed

 

oh and i cant get the headlights out as i've got a sidelight out one side and dipped beam the other within 2 days of each other. Stupid car!

What turbo have you got ? I presume you've got a WRX blobeye? Anything fellow members could help with?

 

its got a vf35 at the minute that started smoking less than 2 monthes after been fitted

can i give you a call tomorrow H, i'm off work so may be tempted to have another go, i got all 3 bolts out but just couldnt get the headlight out no matter how i tried to twist it and push/pull at it

 

Ah ok. Thought if you had a TD04 I could offer a replacement as I think my dad has a spare. Hope you get things sorted soon !

 

cheers mate, still got my td04 outside in a box somewhere. just dont want to go backwards and have to have it mapped again to have less power if i can avoid it. If i'm moving away from the vf35 i'd want to go more with a view of it all coming together in a few monthes and drag it out to lighten the load on the wallet and so i can afford it all! Thanks again mate.

 

remove the clips that hold in the top of the bumper under the grille

 

bigfarlz a fellow member mate has just put a vf35 up for sale he has just had a full rebuild and after he had run it in he was going to upgrade his tdo4 but he has changed the master plan yet again and going with a td05 from 0121, im sure he will do you a good deal and i think its mint drop him a pm

car is finally back after 8 days.
big shout and thanks to spencer at mvs.(and the mechanic's of course)
highly recommended, very honest and a top bloke too boot.
full service including cam belt ( and an idler ), pads and discs all round (thanks to ian at godspeed) and some other bits added and some new nuts (had to change the d1 spec nuts thanks to longbridge tyres ) and a excellent cuppa.
top job. many thanks.

D1 Spec wheel nuts are bad news. They stripped the thread of 3 of my wheel studs which I had to replace and that was a real pain in the **** job to do!

They looked cool though lol
