P.s it should be a maximum of 2 years ncd lost for a fault claim on a policy, not that it's any consolation but they should be removing all of your ncd.

The arseholes/wasters (the buyer in this case) manage to get a free pass again whilst the people trying to play the game get shafted.
This kind of thing is idiotic.

even if your not the owner but had your name on the insurance docu then you are legaly inured on tht car.they could probaly have you for not failing to disclose information with them about selling etc.if it had crashed and a claim is being made since your name is insured then you are liable and hence why your no claims have gone.as too why they wont renew you is maybe down to fact that you idnt cancel and possibly costing them lot money now.from there point of view if you had informed them and had cancelled on the day of sale they wouldnt be having too pay out.insurance companies can decline insurance too anyone.sorry too hear your troubles.always best cancel soon as sale and also get written proof from dvla that you no longer own the car.better safe than sorry.hope you get some joy somewhere

If you have legit proof - dvla paperwork then send a photocopy to Churchill, TBH i would be looking to insure with someone else given the way they have treated you - if you have proof then send it to the new insurance company if you have any issues.

This is the sort of story TV's Watchdog love...

so am i to read into this right ?

In general,not just the OP

you insure a car

sell it

cancel/move the policy to new car

old car has accident 5 mths later say,not insured by current owner, the last owners policy is still due to pay out ?
