No offence intended, I assure you. Just a (quite major) difference of opinion. It just seemed - to me - such a mind boggling idea. If you want to kill them then just get on with it which would be better I would think. Personally I think society would sink to a new low if the state starts hanging 10 year olds.

I agree with not hanging children on the basis of their age despite their evilness but for the crime these 2 individuals committed they would have to face the death penalty once old enough in my opinion. It is not just what they did but how calculating they were that defines just how eveil they are.If you say due to them being children they avoid the death penalty but someone aged 18 or over does a similar crime and hangs I think that leads to more issues. Hence my opinion of them being on death row until old enough.
So so sad this whole story has had to come out again, can you imagine little jame`s mother and how haunting it must be for her to here the latest news.
if there was ever a sad story to take to my own grave it will be about that little lad, actually feel kinda upset even typing this but can only agrea with what has been said before someone somewhere could be married to one off this pieces off scum and not even know it was them.
hopefully something may just come out in prison very soon, would find it very hard to belive in this day and age his true identity will not eventually be revealledand hopefully only then will justice really be done.

I would say it is rock bottom. What they did to that toddler is unforgivable. They took his life in a horrendous way. They knew what they were doing, even at that age.I am a Mother but I would gladly see those two put to death, no matter what age they were/are. Sorry but that is how strong I feel about it.

He might have, or part of his license conditions might have been not to attempt communication with Robert Thompson, or the Bulger family, not to go near Liverpool, or the shopping centre he took the kiddy from, etc.
I have no knowledge of his conditions, but the above are examples.

The law used to exempt people under the age of 18 from the death penalty. I think that was correct and although I personally would welcome the death penalty for a murderer, I think these two should be kept in gaol for a very long time and even then only released if they have definitely changed their mindset. If then released it should be without a change of identity.

Wondering if he was picked up in South London last week or was transferred via Belmarsh as I saw a VERY heavily armed 5 vehicle police convoy speeding along through Welling end of last week. Certainly wasn't your run of the mill crim being transported in that lot and the lead car was being very aggressive with the traffic to keep out their way.
Could have been any of the serious crims from Belmarsh I know, just seemed more protected than normal and apparently it was last week he was arrested.

I think there is a case to be made for making one of the licence conditions saying that they lose the right to anonymity if they break the terms.
If he was carted off by a local police force I wondered how they found out who he really was? So few people really know his true identity and Venables would be unlikely to tell them and it's not going to be on a police computer?

Anyone watching Newsnight? Who the **** does Will Self think he is to sit there and suggest these two child murders may not have been sick evil children but very confused children 
He claims to have read the transcripts of the case and what he claims is that there was no suggestion of pure evil that the press and public believe.

These are 2 children who deliberately went to a shopping centre to look for a victim, found one, lead him away holding his hand as if to befriend him and then brutally tortured and then murdered him and then tried to hide what they had done by laying him across railway tracks in the hope that a train would hide what they had done.
