What a weird setup?

How come removable door bars, nothing to the front struts and a random harness bar???

Is it a regs thing for the class your running in?

Quality looks great BTW

Removeable Door Bars => because I wanted them to be removeable so that the car can be used on the road without having to climb in

Nothing to the front struts => because to do that they need the engine out and it is not coming out just yet and especially not coming out just to make room for some welding. It will come out soon and there will be a reason for that - ie refresh/improvements/repair (hope not that)

Random harness Bar ??? Why is that random ?

Ignore him Duncan, he only writes negative comments never anything positive. Same on my thread on here and 22b. Must be an envy issue lol.

Convention usually means the bar is in the rear x. less weight and stronger than a single bar.
daz you got upset because i dissed your purple paint job! Mmm is it now not white?
as for the welding i was only taking the ****, chill out.

as for envy/jealousy, nah i dont do that!

my problem is, i have no tact, its not negativity but sometimes i guessit could come across like that.

I understand what you are saying but it is not possible to do that in the x behind the seats as the rear of the seat would be impeded by it and would compromise seating position. It cannot go in the upper x because the angles would be wrong. The rear straight bar is very strong and serves a double purpose of tying the strut tops together for strength - that is less weight than having both the straight bar and harness bar inserts in the x's.

But I am only summising - i leave that stuff to Sonny as he has been building roll cages for race cars from club to international level and for special projects such as those used in Top gear for over 20 years so I think he knows a bit more than me. He knows the regs for TA inside out and also works closely with Marc the scrutineer.

This cage is fit/approved for MSA motorsport events but could easily be extended for FIA approval should the need arise.

I have no idea what those switches are going to get used for yet to be perfectly honest

Two gauges and hazard light in middle.

Two heated (red switches) for perhaps heated windscreen and something else - dunno yet
One Green for go - fuel pump
Two for lights. (probably)

I managed to get most of the loom in there and connected tonight - hopefully get it fired up tomorrow and make sure that all the stuff i need connected is connected and strip some of the remaining wires down as there are quite a few connectors with nothing on the end of them lol
