Good point about thieves - I had to sell my mk4 R32 because it was constantly targeted by them. I'd only get one if you have a garage - the wheels and body kit are too easy to nick and stick on a sh1tty 1.4 mk4 Golf (or whatever).
Mk4 and mk5 both get to 100 quicker (15ish compared to 17ish) than a VXR and they don't torque steer and grip better - so HOW is the VXR faster?

IMO the R32 looks really dated now. Go for the VXR or the ST these 2 cars alone practically killed of Subaru and set new bench marks for the hot hatch.

I thought about a VXR as a change from playing with 4wd jap machinery but the centre dashboard area alone was emough to put me off lol.
I had an R32 (mk4) a few years ago and absolutely loved it! Quite slow though, felt responsive and you'd think "here we go" and then it'd just pootle along. I guess after owning turbo'd stuff you're always waitng for that kick in the back grunt.
I think an R32 with a turbo or supercharger conversion would be a superb car.

Yep - I went from a mk4 R32 to a mk5 Astra and the worst thing about the latter was the dash - utterly horrible compared to the Golf. The rest of the car wasn't bad though.

Or there is always the mixture of both I suppose.. = Edition 30 / S3?
That way you have massive tuning potential (more so than the VXR) AND something with luxury and good residuals..

R32 all day for me, for the noise alone. After having VAG cars alongside the scoob for many years I'm converted. Maybe I should take a look at ford/vauxhall offerings to see how they have improved. I like both the look of the ST and the VXR.
