Update time.

I've paused work on the car for the last few months as I've been focussing on finishing my other Impreza for this summer - I utilised the original 4-door Classic bodyshell for this, which is like new with very little mileage (3270km from new). That'll be predominantly a road car (as much as a road car can be with a dog-box) but the focus will be on a street-sleeper. I'll also be aiming for a ten-second quarter in it, but more on that soon.

Before I stopped work I got the track car shell to a stage where it's pretty much ready to paint so I can pick up the project again soon. All the panels are in primer, as is the rest of it. Pics...

Inner rear arch fabrication

Arch bonded on

Shell in primer

I've also been gathering bits for it over the past few months - EJ22T blocks and Ric Wood CNC ported AVCS heads with Cosworth +1mm inlet and exhaust valves, double valve springs and ti retainers

Hahaha....makes me feel very poor
Haha, I guess I should have been more specific...it's not open chequebook in the sense that I'll be doing most of the work myself, but that's not to say I won't be spending a small fortune on it...

Few pics of the four-door sleeper...it's nearing completion. Had it running last night, got to sort a water leak from what looks like the turbo area which I'll look into tonight.

Will be ready for mapping in a few weeks, got the boost pipes welded by Forge since this pic was taken, managed to squeeze 3" pipes under the headlights...all fitted properly now. Good times.

Should stop hopefully too

Just a small observation Rich, you may find you run out of injectors long before you get to 600bhp with your current fuel system, even more so when you add meth.
You may require either some Lateral Performance modified and flowmatched 900cc injectors, or a top feed rail conversion and some Injector Dynamics 1100cc injectors.

Best of luck with the builds, they both look very interesting.

Nice spec. Agree with Martyn though - you will run out of injectors for 600bhp unless you pump huge pressure through there.

Cheers for the advice fellas - I'll look into some larger injectors, don't want to be limited on fuelling after getting this far!

Check out the shell - third pic down from the top - you can see the cutouts underneath the headlights fairly well in that pic

If they are the Nismo 740's Mark can mod those to 1000cc. I run the same in mine and they are at there max at just over 600 on a 20% meth mix

Providing the liners don't drop. It would appear that more do than don't too which is a shame. With a 2.33 you've got as strong as you can get without having to worry about dropped liners.

Cheers dude yeah I spoke to him earlier in the week - I need to get them to him asap to work his magic! Will get them out tonight.

SimTek fitting and running-in map booked for the 6th July, then it'll be time to cover 1000 miles before going back for a final map on 10% meth

I think 600 may be a little optimistic but we'll see. I'm not too fussed on what it makes, the only real target I've set myself is to run a ten in it this summer
