Cool

Guys,

Could possibly be the 8th, but going to need to do a bit more research!

Currently got the standard set up for MY98 which is pants, but I don't know alot about brakes (appart from anything's better than what I've got now! ). We'd want something suitable for the road and occasional airfield/track use...

I'll get back to you when I've found out a little more

To justify the price (I realy do want better breaks) can anyone see a future problem with selling my subaru 4 pots? i want to get 17" next year when i can afford it, ther should be no problem using the god speed 4 pots wih 17`s should there?

I figure i can sell them and warrent the upgrade, it just seems silly paying for 4 pots when i already have 4 pots, hence ill sell them and use the godspeeds, whada ya thnk?

I am interested in the 335mm kit. Following questions arise:
1) What is extra cost ian for set of braided hoses.
2) Do the AP calipers fit your discs with this setup if I decide to upgrade the calipers later.
3) What oil should I be thinking of putting in my braking system after fitting.
4) What price spare pads
5) What price spare discs

Gordon , The kit will fit your wheels

Beastie ,
1- Braided hose kit F & R £60
2- You can fit any caliper to these discs.
3- We use good quality Dot 4 , I use this in my rally car with no problems of boiling fluid .
4- Pads are £100 a set for Mintex M1144
5- Discs are £145 each ( but please note they will last much longer than standard size discs)

Catflap , The 308mm kit will work with 17" wheels , You may be better off getting the discs and bells to use your calipers , then look to fitting the 335mm kit next year when you get the wheels ,

Hope this helps Ian

good idea an, could you mail me with a price on tht bells and disks to fit standrard 4 pots on 16" (or slng it on here if you prefer?)

Sorry for sooo many questions but it seems that the 99 car with 4 pot, has the least to gain gotm the kit, the boys with older 2 pots and them with 17" seem to be getting a fantastic deal.

Just wish i had got them 17"s i was thinking aout.

DAVE

count me in for the big stuff,335mm, DEFINATELY

Can't wait

Only concern, I've got Mintex pads already and not that keen , any chance of some DS2500 instead. These seem to be well liked. Open to criticism or praise

Davy

Edited to say: I was gonna sell my WRX (MY95)but they're going for peanuts so I might as well just spend loads o'dosh making it even better

Catflap , The discs and bells are £350 a pair , if you want to be included in the group buy I will give you a 10% discount to make the group buy numbers up to 10 ,

Chris c , have you got any pictures of your wheels , I can see if they will fit then , we have had 1 16" wheel that they wounldn't go under due to webbing on the inside of the spokes ,

Badgerbell , I will enquire on a price for the pads we use, in the DS2500 , if they are about the same I will supply them with the kit , if the price is more you can just pay the difference if you want them ,

Cheers Ian

Ian another couple of questions.

1/ can you post up the pad part no's for the various options? ( i.e. if your caught short can you put a standard 4 pot subaru pad in)

2/ I already have goodridge hoses fitted, do you supply new sealing washers for reconnection of the hose to caliper?

3/ if the buy goes ahead, can you take credit cards, or are cheques the way.

best regards
ray t

Question

Ian, you already mentioned the longer bolts and spacer needed to span the 32mm discs for the 335 kit. I was just wondering, is it a simple case of unbolting the existing caliper halves, insert spacer & new bolts and retorque? Are there any fluidway seals etc that need replacing too and if so, are they in the kit?

Just wondering as I've never taken calipers apart before and wouldn't like to do it wrong

Cheers,
Steve

Question

Ian,

If the 308mm kit comes with a 4 pot caliper and the 335mm one does not, why are they nearly the same price ???

Thanks

Spider , yes you will have to split the caliper halves , this is a very easy job , the caliper halves have an 'o' ring in between them , as they are not exposed to the elements they will never get damaged so you retain these , in our spacers we supply one side is machined with a recess with an 'o' ring fitted , the 'o' ring in the caliper fits against the flat side on our spacers , and the 'o' ring on our spacers fit against the flat side on the calipers , which seals all sides ,

Gavin , The discs are more expensive , and the pads are more , and we have offered more discount off the 308mm kit ,

Cheers Ian

No but very easy to understand written instructions , but if you are not confident in doing them have it done by a mechanic , The last thing you want is something going wrong at 100mph !! Ian

Just seen this thread! Can you put me down for the 308mm kit and possibly the braided hoses to go with it (front and rear), assuming this kit fits under the 17" Radius R3's. Can you confirm? I'm 99% sure we can get these, but I better run it passed the other half before I confirm. Is there a cutoff date for a decision?

Chris

Question

Are godspeed willing to do a discount on the hoses and fluid too? I may be interested then. I know this sounds heap, but I'm getting married shortly so things like this have to be well justified to the missus

Steve

PS I'd be up for the 335mm discs if the above is on.

I'm using Team Dynamics Motorsport 17" wheels, will 335mm disc fit under these ?
If the answer is yes then I'd be interested in a set of the above.

Chris , The 308mm four pot kit will fit under any 17" wheel , we make the bells with more offset than a standard disc so the calipers are further away from the spokes to give maximum clearance.

We can supply hoses with the kits for a discounted price of £50 per kit , thats £10 off .

Beastie , They will fit your wheels , we supplied someone on here back last summer who had one of these kits and he needed a 3mm spacer , we have since changed the kit so the spacers are not needed.

Steve Sherwood , Yes as above , if anyone wants a braided hose kit at the time of having the brake kit I will supply them for £50 per 4 hose kit . These are Goodrich kits.

Mark A , Yes they will fit these wheels ,

Mkhan , Yes they will fit under your wheels , I can fit them for you , I normally charge £95 to fit this kit , But if anyone wants it fitted I will fit them for £75 inc Fluid ,

I will keep these offer going until next Friday , 29th March , for unlimited numbers ,

Many thanks , Ian

Oh and what price for you to supply these now?
Thanks

Beastie , If you fitted the 335mm kit for the subaru four pots then wanted to fit the AP 6 pots later they would not fit under your wheel , you would need a bigger offset bell , we are restricted on how far we can take the disc in when you retain the original calipers because of the caliper mounting lugs , You would be better off selling the 335mm kit on and buying a complete new 335mm AP 6 pot kit , that way you would not be wasting the bells and brackets , Cheers Ian

Oh bu66er it, the credit card has a special offer.

Put me down as a definite for the 335mm set c/w hoses and the recommended fluid for track use by Mr. Godney (which as I'm spending £550 I'm sure he'll throw in ), I'm presuming we pay Godspeed direct and so credit cards can be used.
