I have sorted a deal on a group buy for Godspeed 308mm / 4 pot brake conversions. I am told this kit will fit behind 16" wheels or bigger.

For more info on the kit click

www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk

and follow the links to the spec. page.

Ian Godney has told me that the current retail for the 308mm kit for the impreza is £575 all in (I know the website says £550)

If we can get 10 kits together he'll do each kit for £500.

You can choose your spec of disc...grooved, cross drilled, combi....and you can have the calipers done in any colour you want.

I'm definately up for this.....my brakes are knackered and the cash is sitting here, so it's just another 9 or more of you.

Post a reply or mail me if you're interested and when theres enough names in the hat we're sorted!!!

David

Hi , I will also do a group buy on the 335mm kit , you must have the subaru 4 pots for this , I will do 5 kits at £500 each , £50 off , and free delivery ,
Catflap , look at the big disc kits page , click on 308mm kits and this is the kit in the group buy ,
Paul G , If my answer machine is on I'm working on one of the machines , either leave a message and I'll ring you when I'm free or email me ,

Edited to add I will take any combination of 10 kits to make it easier to arrange ,

Hope this helps ,

Many Thanks , Ian

Couple of questions....

Can I use my own 4 pots calipers with the 308mm kit, if so how much does it cost without the calipers ??

Is the £500 for the 335mm kit without the calipers ??

Is there any difference between the standard Scoob 4 pots and the ones in the kit ???

Not wanting to but in, but I can answer those question, the 308 kit will NOT use the impreza caliper, the 335mm kit will, thats the one I would go for if I didn't have a disc and bell 294 kit.

I've only got the standard two pots, so I'm up for the 308mm kit...(thats why I sorted the deal for those originally ).

Many thanx Ian for sorting peoples queries out today

When this is sorted I'll come and pick my kit up since we're not too far from each other.

When are you rallying next...anything coming up in Pembrey? Circuit is only 10 minutes from my house so I'll come down for a look.

Scott,

One of the Welsh scoobynetters, Ceri (CPofWales) had the 335mm / subaru 4 pot conversion and he reckoned it was an excellent set up. Ceri did a few track days and reported excellent braking with little fade (guess he wasn't trying hard enough ). Obviously he's not had Brembos etc. fitted to compare the Godspeed kit with, so I can only go on his (and many others who have bought kits) recommendation.

The other thing to note (obvious really) is that this kit is less than half what you pay for a Brembo / AP setup.....so you pays your money and makes your choice

Have a chat with Ian (Godney) direct m8.

Can everyone who is genuinely interested in either of the kits please either mail me to confirm or post a big YES so that we can keep track of numbers

Seems to be going quite well

Dizzy , I got your photo , the 308mm 4 pot kit will fit under your wheels ,

Sasim , you cannot use the 308mm discs with the subaru four pot calipers , only standard size or 335mm discs , if you fit the 308mm discs you are only going up from 294mm , the caliper only comes out 7mm which is not enough room to fit a bracket , The 335mm kit is complete less calipers , you use the subaru 4 pot ones but with bigger than standard pads. The calipers in our kit work as well as the standard 4 pot calipers.

Dave , had a big off in Eppynt 2 weeks ago and rushing to get it ready for Caerwent this sunday , no pembrey's until the end of the year , there is a Talbenny coming up end of april.

Catflap , The benifits from our 308mm kit to the standard scooby brakes are they are slightly bigger , when it comes to brakes size does matter , and the alloy bells dissapate the heat quicker which makes them a lot harder to warp ,

Hope this helps , any more questions fire away , Ian

Ian,
a couple of questions about the below.

("The 335mm kit is complete less calipers , you use the subaru 4 pot ones but with bigger than standard pads. The calipers in our kit work as well as the standard 4 pot calipers.")

1/ on the 335mm disc "how thick" is it ?

2/ is the subaru 4 pot caliper left as standard? or does it have to be modified?

3/ if disk is thicker and caliper standard "are the pads thinner".

thanks ray t

Ray ,

1- the discs are 32mm thick

2- In the kit is alloy spacers and longer bolts that fit in between the caliper halves , this makes them wide enough to fit over the thicker discs .

3-The pads are about same length and thickness of a standard subaru pad , but are 10mm wider , the pad area on our discs are 10mm wider than the pad area on the standard 294mm discs .

Cheers Ian

Maybe Ian can post if I havn't spoken to him before he reads this.

I have an MY01 with standard 17" alloys, and want the 335mm upgrade.

I am right in thinking that my 95 wrx discs are only 270mm aren't I????

Therefore the 308mm with 4 pot conversion will be much better!?!?
