Pete if there was ever any doubt about your credentials for being a Champagne socialist, i think we only ever need to refer back to this thread. Stunning ignorance and hypocricy. Soldiers dying young, bankers on millions. It's the language of crass stupidity.
And as for Les's tawdry third person wankfest, skipping about like a retarded child with all his Christmases coming at once, it's such a spectacularly pathetic misunderstanding and own goal that it doesn't merit taking this topic off course any further. Les, you're a sad ****; please don't let anyone, least of all me, ever let you forget that.
Anyway, Barclays deferring up to 60% of bonuses apparently, and statements from Lloyds today. Citigroup repaying $20bn, something they're able to do because they've been able to pay and therefore retain staff. Pity the UK Government went for the populist vote and began the systematic destruction of UK plc starting with the City.

Goodbye - we won't miss the City ...... the world won't miss Bankers.
The party's over
Let those who make things make money - those who make absolutely nothing, let them starve! The workers are united!

I could argue you and your employer are profiting and making millions from what many consider an illegal war that many don't want. That the leader you worship so much who keep sending in more troops where many of whom are killed and maimed and may never return. That what you make and supply to the military, thereby supporting the war effort and allowing the war to continue unabated where over a hundred soldiers have died this year alone and countless more civilians. You say what you make saves soldiers lives, wrong. Doctors and nurse and countless hospital staff who don't MAKE anything but do save lives and who many would consider your wages to be over inflated, excessive and questionable. A war that has been ravaging since 2003 allowing you to profit and make millions. Is it any wonder why you think there hasn't even been a recession.
But I won't because that would be like tarring everyone who "makes" things for the armed forces with the same brush who also make guns, tanks, rockets, bombs etc.

Just to add to Jon's point.
The military hardware/supply industry is ALMOST ENTIRELY funded from the pockets of taxpayers worldwide and at the same time manages to be on the most poorly regulated industries whilst at the same time being one of the most corrupt on a global scale.
Bribe a few Saudi princes for a few million of taxpayers money - don't worry we will sweep that under the carpet in the 'interests of national security'.
So Pete please enjoy your taxpayer funded salary and your taxpayer funded pension!

And just think, DD, if that survey took the people responsible for the products which caused the chaos and not just "bankers" in general who had nothing to do with it, just think how destructive they'd have been for the universe. Worse even than Daleks i'd have thought

I still think that Bankers should be dragged through the streets ...... I doubt they would have anyone wishing to stop the lynching!
They are hated more than Estate Agents FFS!
I, on the other hand, are universally loved

You made a complete fool of yourself the last time you tried that.
