Could be interested in a wheel/tyre package in 17" (225/45/17) with the Hankook RS-2 if its available.

Otherwise wheels only.

Okay looking about they wern't as cheap as i thought, although as mentioned before Car Audio & Security are cheap.

Bit of weight information here for the 1.2's:

"7.0 x 14 from 5.7kg (12.5lbs)
7.0 x 15 from 6.9kgs (15.1lbs)
7.0 x 16 from 7.4kgs (16.2lbs)
7.0 x 17 from 7.9kgs (17.3lbs)
7.5 x 17 from 8.2kgs (18.0lbs)
8.0 x 17 from 9.0kgs (19.8lbs)
9.0 x 17 from 9.5kgs (20.9lbs)
8.0 x 18 from 9.0kgs (19.8lbs)
9.0 x 18 from 11.5kgs (24.2lbs)"

Information from Alloy Wheels - Specialist supplier of alloy wheels and tyres packages, Fast Delivery, Buy Online.

I would be interested in tyres.

Thanks,
Sam

Is it OK to use this tyre on the road (summer use obviously)?
How does it behave on the wet?

I thought 9kg for a 8x18 is OK?
To go lighter we must go forged and the prices will shoot to the sky

Hi I am intersted in a set of 17x9in 5x100, but I am looking for a really low offset. Is it possible to have them made with zero offset or a maximum of ten. Sorry for the late interest

We need to compare them to some other wheels, Rota, OZ etc... I'll have a look in a bit.

Thanks,

Can't give you any facts based on my experience, because I've never had the tyre myself.
But some guy's I know used it on the street and track and where quite satisfied with it. It's not a typical track-tyre like R888, Pilot Sport Cup and the like, but I was told that it provides better grip than normal high-performance street tyres in the dry and better grip than the named semi-slicks in the wet. And it's relatively cheap in comparision.

Weight for the new OZ Allegritta HLT is 7,72kg in 8x18 and 6,92kg for 8x17. I think it's one of the lightest street wheels on the market. But the price will be twice that of the TD.

TD 1.2 is not too bad though if it really weighs 9kg in 8x18.

I would like something lighter as well but the cost is prohibitive.

On another note, my speedo under-reads by about 6% at the moment (94 when doing 100) with 225/45/18 tyre and if I fitted 235/45/18 it would correct the problem and I would have a wider tyre as well. But 235/45/18 would be heavier than the 225/45/18, will it be worth going 1cm wider but at the cost of increased unsprung weight ?

9 KG is about 19.9 LBS, does anyone know the weight of a standard MY00 Turbo 2000 wheel, it's a 6 spoke 16" design?

Thanks,
Sam

Merlin confirmed from rimstock the following:

"ET45 is what TD would suggest for the Brembo brakes on all 8 x 18 and 8 x 17 Subaru fitments."

Had a reply from Derek/Merlin regarding tyre quote:

"please find quotation below:

Hankook V12 Conti Sport Con 3 Michelin PS2 GoodYear F1 Ays Toyo T1R
225/45/17 £79.52 £104.00 £105.00 £105.00 £90.00

225/40/18 £92.00 £124.00 £127.00 £128.50 £106.71
225/45/18 £106.45 £161.50 £161.50 N/A £131.70

235/40/18 £105.45 £159.50 £167.50 £147.50 £143.00
235/45/18 £120.45 £178.45 £212.10 N/A £137.20

These prices include VAT at 17.5%.
Please note I am unable to quote for the Hankook RS-2 -- these are designated dealer only supplied tyres!

I can really only quote accurate shipping costs if you provide me with Country and postcodes"

To summarise, the best quote we have had so far was from alloywheels.com

Rickya, once you get a quote from your supplier we can choose between the 2 and get this GB moving.

I think in that case I'll switch to 17 x 7,5 and ET45, 5x100 and anthracite.

Want to eliminate every risk of rubbing, because I want to avoid rolling the arches etc.

What do you all think for a classic MY00, it's between:

17" or 18"?

Offset from 36 to 43?

Width 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5 or 9?

Thanks,
Sam

Right people,
I have sent tony an email with everything in, as it goes I may not be involved in this gb for much longer due to funds and personal circumstances.

As soon as tony replies I will update thread, hopefully with some good prices on tires too.

If doug wrx and kin quick would like to be involved then hurry in and I will update email.

If I'm out, I'm out. but will update you all and sort this out.

I'm interested, i'm just working out the details and i'll get back to you all.

Anyone know if 7.5 x 17 with ET 48 will fit over big calipers?

Thanks,

Don't suppose you can get a set in Black for an Audi RS4 (2007 model) as I'll need a set to run Winter tyres on.

Cheers
