scoobyclinics turbo's just got billet I mean better!
Hi,
great to hear the SC42 Billet twin scroll is delivering.
I know you keep thinking about the SC46 Billet twin scroll but I think the sacrifice in spool for the gain in BHP may be a little disappointing, remember its all about drivability, who wants 700 BHP that spools at 6000 RPM, OK for a track car but a snappy 400 BHP will be far quicker on the road.

cheers
Kev

Well I'm getting mapped on the 28th, SC46 single scroll on a 2008 UK hatch STI. Standard injectors, but Bosch 044 & swirl pot - plan is to see if we can break 400hp (safely) on the standard injectors!!
Immy, you really need to calm down ;-)

I know think am getting carried away! Would advise you to the the injectors done tho will make it future proof to and will not hold you back.
Other thing is, as I said to you the other night, I want to get "used" to ~400hp first, then when I finally go ~450hp it's a double bonus, I know it's another mapping session but...

ANYWAY, it will be a good comparison against your motor if mine is mapped to a same HP level as yours

btw, slightly OT: really liking the full HT autos kit, do you know if they're doing the front splitter for the 08 yet, last time I checked it was for MY10+ only?
Hi lads,
Although I have gone through quite a good bit of info in this thread I was wondering what turbo to go for my fully forged 2.5 ?I current have a vf35 on it which is useless being honest.
Now Im not going 6 speed just yet but would like a turbo that best suits a 2.5 and i'll kee the boost down for the moment to conserve the 5 speed and clutch until i have funds to get the 6 speeder
I was thinking the sc40 ? Or would the Normal ball bearing sc46 be better?
Thanks in advance
Barry

Thing is, I doubt I'd safely see any more than ~425hp on the TMIC, now with the increased fuel pressure that I'll get from my secondary Bosch 044 fuel pump I reckon I can get just over 400hp on standard injectors, so I figure it's worth waiting until I go FMIC before I touch the injectors. Also don't forget the 2.5s run hotter than the 2.0, so probably even more need for FMIC (IMHO).

Hi,
SC46 Billet.
Stunning on a 2.5.

Cheers
Kev
we are just about to test a new SC38 Billet ball bearing cored turbo on a 2.5, we reckon spool will be as good as the SC 36 Billet with the power of an SC40 Billet.
Here's hoping at least.

cheers

Yup agreed,it will be awesome on a 2.5 with supporting mods,my mate has a 46 on his P1 2.0ltr forged and made 460bhp with good spool at 1.6bar with loads left in reserve, fantastic turbo without a doubt.

To be honest I want between 350-400hp from this engine as I'm still using the 5 speed box, I know the torque could still kill it .
Also going past the 400 mark I wouldnt really have the funds to start changing to brembo setup and larger wheels etc.
