EcuTek RaceROM - All mappable cars from MY06> (better than MegaROM)

Hi,

agreed, turbo's and our syncro gear kit, we broke the gear casing on our dog box last outing, with time running out ( as usual) we had to fit one of our syncro kits to the drag car, not knowing what sort of power they can handle it was a bit of a gamble, luckily it worked, here it is in action with Mikeee trying his best to break it.

Hi,

the SC42 billet through to the SC54 Billet can all run dump valve free.

I run the SC54 Billet without a dump valve and get the waste-gate chatter which for me personally I prefer to the sometimes annoying dump valve noise, all down to personal preferences.

cheers

Hi Kev,

As you know i've been contemplating one of these gear kits for a long time.

The kit that Mikey is using, is that one of the Straight cut Syncro Albins kits?

I'm seriously interested in these but there's not enough info around (or I have missed it)for me to make an informed decision.

Pm if you wish.

Cheers

I run the rather more modest SC46 without a DV. Prefer the noise to a DV too. Also found the spool (using the bum dyno lol) between gearchanges better previously, although haven't done a comparison with the SC turbo

Hi,

it is the Albins syncro kit, they are all helical as we have found them to be stronger, 3 teeth in mesh at all times.

If you are wondering why as a helical kit its so noisy, its because we are running solid billet alloy engine and gearbox mounts so all the noise comes into the cab.

We have just taken stock of some nice engine and gearbox mounts that are pretty solid yet only transfer 50% of the engine and gearbox noise into the chassis, these are pretty good and well priced at £199.99 + vat for a set.

Those mounts look like the Cusco Engine & Tranny mounts?

Hi,

they probably come out of the same factory but these are branded Tomioka racing, which we are a distributor for.

Nice range of stuff to be fair.

cheers

Never heard of Tomioka, but then again im in the States.

However I have the Cusco versions and they are very nice. A little bit of added vibrations and noise, but keeps everything nice and tight

Hi,

couldn't put it better myself, "a little bit of added vibration and noise, but keeps everything tight", certainly does.

Why not sc36 without dv? Always thought the td series turbos were good for that sort of thing ?

Pants- that was my of my grand plan! I dont even like my recic valve, as sound like an atmos one due to the recirc into the intake, which has an aftermarket filter on it.

Now isnt a good time to ask about anti slag on the SC36 then

I will be it's got a shi\ty HKS mushroom induction kit ,but as you have stated in your thread the OEM airbox is more than good enough for 400bhp. So it will be going back on
As for the inlet it comes with the bigger red STI inlet hose.

Will get some pics of the setup for you Shaun

My sc46 twinscroll is fitted and the running-in miles are about done on the engine. I just need to get a mapping session arranged with API.

I'm not sure that's strictly true for the MY08 set-up (the MY03-MY07 has a different inlet tract). I believe there is more of a restriction with the MY08> set-up for the 2ltrs and I was already hitting the airflow limit at 405bhp, even with the (in theory) "better" MY03-MY07 set-up.

Get your wallet out.
