scoobyclinics turbo's just got billet I mean better!
Hi,
we have done a few SC42 billets on forged 2.5 engines, one word, "stunning", who needs the brag figures when the spool far out ways them.
Its a great combination and surprised us to be fair as the SC46 Billet was designed for the 2.5 and the SC42 billet for the 2.0 and 2.1 stroked engines but it seems to love the 2.5 as well.
As stated earlier in this thread, lots of research carried out this year, a few new aero blades now out and the latest cast 7cm exhaust housing seems to work well.
Will update everyone over Xmas,
Have a good un
cheers

kev, what would be better suited for a fast road 2.1 with avcs heads? sc42 or sc46? a few people have mentioned the gt30 but im guessing that would be laggy on a every day car

Hi,
not updated this thread for a while but it seems to have a life of its own regardless.
There are a number of new turbos to add to the range this year, an all new SC42 billet + under going testing tomorrow.
The graph below shows the improvement with regard to spool on the SC46's new cast housing, never was the SC46 Billet a slouch at spooling but the new cast housing has improved it by around 500 RPM without affecting the power figure at all,
I know that its not a full up power figure but we don’t want to push harder on this car as its on a standard 5 speed gearbox.

But just look at that spool,
cheers

Hi,
as promised SC42 Billet + results...................

This is on a 2.0 ltr STI bug eye running a FMIC, on shell V power, we didn’t bother with road test as the turbo is coming off and vehicle returning to standard, spool would be expected to be around 500 RPM earlier on the road.
Think we have a winner here, wonder what the SC46 Billet + is going to do.
Cheers

oh and 485bhp from a sc42............wtf to that
Hi,
rest of the car is standard, just a FMIC, a perrin inlet pipe and V power, mapped in house by Andy our Pat trained mapper.
Spool will be improved on a 2.1 but as to how much I dont know until we rtry one
Cheers

i went for the billet sc46 on my forged 2,5 with full supporting mods and have been dissapointed in the spool and power achieved tbh
mine is a ej257 cdb forged build with rcm headers/fuel rails/injectors/reg/pump/tgv delete/harvey uppipe /hdi fmic and intake /perrin turbo pipe/simtek and only achvd 445bhp and noticeable lag
mapped by steve simpson so doubt its the mapping

good result but isn't the boost a bit high for a standard engine, amazed the heads have not shown signs of lifting, would have thought 1.7 bar would be about as far as you could push it and stay safe. Still on a standard ECU? What injectors?
