I have games like that, i put it down to lag, it seams pretty good at hiding lag, but sometimes the game just seams a hell of a lot easier for some reason and i nail it every time, other times i struggle.

It "feels" a bit like Gears Of War, the difference between getting host, or connecting to a laggy one

Wtf is the point of that Javelin cheat other than to show you can do it? You walk around and if you happen to get picked off at a close enough range you take the guy out and maybe a couple more. Good for collecting javelin kills for a challenge I suppose but pretty boring and not that effective unless Im missing something.

I was pretty poor last night. Probably burnt out after ranking up.

Im gonna have to try the ranger now Ive completed most of the challenges with the striker. I got killed a few times the other day by the ranger and its got some serious range on it for a shotgun.

I was reading on the PS3 forums yesterday about people caught boosting stats on FFA by hiding in a corner of the map and then mate uses tatical insertion flare to keep respawning in the same spot and other chap repeatedly knifes him. Easy stats, easy nuke etc. Why are people so lame. Im in the top 200,000 kills wise and I wonder how many of the people above me are their by stat padding, boosting etc. Probably a good 50% Id say judgung by some of the stupid scores, killstreaks etc you see on the top pages.

Id be intrigued to know how theyd actually check. It is sad how people look for these glitches rather than just playing the game. They either suck playing fair or just think they a soooo cool for being famous on youtube.

I cannot see a ban being viable as it is not system tampering just a glitch . Maybe next time they will release a public beta to iron the bugs out before they release the game.

I an currently trying to level up my sniper class av the minute but i keep missing and revealing my position . Not to mention i get bored and start trying run and gun with my 50 caliber. Once i get the thermal i think it is back to my scar h

Whether this is a cheat or glitch I don't know but if you look at the leaderboards (on the PS3 anyway) the top players have cheated to get there. I wrote about it on another site;

Yeah its blatant and since the 1st week of release has been going on. The only stats I bother looking at now is my friends list as I know its genuine.

Lol GM that was one lame game of Sabotage last night. You were the only one on your team attempting to plant the bomb and my team couldnt hit a barn door. I thought Id got the last person after overtime but must have been one left.

After I left you there I did some TDM and after one game with some low rankers I thought I should add the nuke to my killstreak and use hardline. But by the time I went to do that the game was starting on Afghan. I managed 24-0 which would have got me the nuke with hardline grrrrrrrr. That said my 24th kill was the winning one but the mrs had already walked in and started chatting to me so Im sure I could have picked a few more off if I was properly concentrating. Double grrrrrrrrrrr!

To what level as Prestige 1 is in effect just Lvl70+1 to get the badge? Took me about 2days10hrs online play to hit Lvl 70 and I spent the first 30 ranks only playing FFA on release day which seriously reduces your average xp tally unless your winning every other game as you never get a win bonus.

Ranking up is addictive as your like just one more game and Ill get promoted. And the oh If I get 10 more kills I get the ACR Marksman award etc etc

I was tempted to Prestige for all of 10secs but would rather spend my time playing seriously now rather than working through all the weapons again just to get the challenge rewards.

Must say theres some real idiots play domination, they capture the nearest base to them and stay there, and even then struggle to hold it, doing my head in. I just run about trying to get them all, usually ending up top and telling my team WTF you morons lol!

Prestige I did with WaW and it was soooooo annoying, won't be doing that again!!

There are quicker ways to prestige or reach level 70 if you so desire.

I haven't done it myself (as my lowly rank of 42 goes to prove) but I've been told of a couple of ways people do it.

One of the main ways that's going on is something to do with the "back-pack" perk or something (I think it allows two main weapons to be carried) and using the riot shield and a heavy machine gun. Basically everyone pairs off in the game and just shoot at each others riot shields in turn. Bit complicated to explain here but when a guy I know did it (now rank 70 after not very long playing) he was sometimes going up two whole ranks in one game!!

What do you actually get points for though - some ricochet award? Either way its lame and I really dont see the point. Half the fun of ranking for me is knowing Ive achieved it myself.

I decided to prestige last night. I'm really missing the AK47 though as this was by far my favourite assault rifle in this game. It's a real shame that guns like that aren't unlocked earlier on (around rank 50 say) so that you can enjoy them for abit especially if your going to prestige.
Good game the other night BTW but yes it was abit annoying with no-one trying to plant the bomb. I gave it my best shot, got the bomb planted once and the other time....well you know how that turned out as I believe it was you who blew my head off as I was going to plant the bomb. It's all good fun

Haha you couldnt resist. If your challenges didnt get reset Id maybe do it but losing everything bar emblems/titles and only gaining extra custom classes & a diff badge seems not worth it for me.

I havent even used the ak once. Was playing Hardcore TDM yesterday and some chap was owning with Silenced Famas. Luckily he was on my team

We were playing tdm on skidrow and they took a 1000 points off us in 2 glitches peole say it is not worthwhile but in a confined area it is devastating

If your close to mastery on some of the guns when you get to level 70 I'd stick there for abit.........but after you prestige there are other challenges that become available so you would have to re-master the weapons you love again for another badge. For example after prestige all the weapons have two new challenges that appear;
* Veteran I (Get 500 kills - Worth 10,000XP - Unlocks new title)
* Master I (Get 250 headshots - Worth 10,000XP - Unlocks new title)

Also on the challenge screen there is a "Prestige" set of challenges that are unlocked from Prestige 1, Rank 1 onwards(honestly cannot remember if this was there before though). New stuff also "lights" up in bright green so you can't miss it.

Just to let you know (for those of you that hate the Javelin glitch etc) PS3 have just got a 1.05 update for MW2 (not sure about PC or Xbox). It's to fix the Javelin glitch, care package glitch??, and areas where players previously couldn't get to. Apparantly things like rocks in the Afghan level you will be able to climb on/up.
Updated mine but haven't played yet....just wish they'd fix the team making engine so I don't keep ending up on a team by myself

I managed to get my streak up to 21 last night out of 12 games I won about 10. Can't hit a barn door this morning though

The patch seems to have made some changes to matchmaking as now when mine searches it starts at <50ms and works its way up. Previously the first I saw was <100ms.

Im not sure if its coincidence but seems a lot more lag around. What I do know is that the green bars for connection speed mean nothing. Ive played games on 2 yellow bars that are fine and games on 4 green bars which are laggy as hell.

What are these additional challenges you talk of? The main reason I didnt want to prestige (other than the fact ranking is addictive and time consuming) is lose all my challenge progress as you only keep the emblems & titles dont you? For most of the weapons (at least assault rifles) there is a 1000 kill VIII challenge and one for 250 headshots (I assume this as for most of the rifles Im closing in on the last but one challenge which is 150 headshots).

sorry guys but i dont have the time to read through 10 pages on game play. wish i did. but whats the best way to advance then without cheating. i keep playing the free for all but not sure which one would be better to gain points. i have to start out again as i just got my copy and this means i have helped my mate to level 43 and im now on lvl 7 after an hours play. lol.

Well stay away from Free for All would be my first suggestion. I did this for first 28+ ranks and unless your winning every other game you will get far less points than playing TDM, Domination etc as less chance to get the win bonus.

Use the predefined classes that let you use the better weapons with better perks. At least to get those past their basic level of iron sights etc. You still have to try a variety of weapons if you want to earn extra xp. 10k xp for many of the kill challenges really helps you rank up fast.

I did read something if you play with a clan tag you also get more but not sure if thats true and if so how exactly it works.

Add me (same name on PS3) if you want. Wont be playing much after tonight tho as away for a long weekend.
