ESC Santa Cruise 2009, 20th December

The idea is that we donate gifts (wrapped for either boy or girl or suitable for either) and deliver them to a home for children a day or two before christmas.

This is always a great event, seeing the kiddies (those driving and those receiving gifts ) and I believe really makes a difference to them.

For those that cannot make the event, gifts would be much appreciated, even if you aim at a value between £5-£10 this will make a child in a home over Christmas extremely happy. Gifts will be collected at either the Posers Cruise, Halfway House meet or The Lodge, this gives plenty of opportunity for getting the gifts together.

If there is anyone that is open to accept gifts from their home or workplace as suggested by Spally (great idea ) , please add you name to the collection list below.

All those available for the delivery of gifts to kids homes please add your names to the delivery list

Nate we now have the "SPEED STARS" Scalextric (being a blonker unable to post pic )for the other home, plus one present for a girl and one for a boy as listed.

Also we have already donated another additional present for a boy and a girl to be allocated later.
I have given my friends/work colleagues until the 11th too donate presents or cash (too purchase presents on their behalf).
So will confirm with you on the Monday 14th Nate if thats OK.

Nate,

As the present spaces have been filled, are we looking to get a second gift for each or shall I give you a donation towards a main present?

Thanks,

Matt.

MAtt,

Baz has organised a Scalextric for 1 home, and I have got the one above.

Not exactly sure, I did feel maybe a second gift for each child maybe, as we have enough people on the list to fill an extra gift.

Seb ahs suggested above about a gift (drinks etc) for those that look after the kids.

What do you think?

I don't mind some input, as this is the first time I have organised the Santa Cruise.

Pretty much anything goes mate.

In the past some put tinsel on.

Some put stickers on.

Some wear silly hats.

Some get dressed up & bring strange friends.

And some go OTT.

Leaving time and route to be confirmed, but please take it that it will probably be a meeting time of 8.00 - 8.15 AM and leaving time of around 8.45 - 9.00 AM from Baz Vegas car park

If all the childrens names are filled, do not hesitate to add your name for a second gift, because by the number of attendees, we should easily be able to double up the gifts .

Many thanks for the generosity of Duncan, and Matt for arranging the auctioning of it

Scalextric all sorted, cheers for the donation on my TV Stu

I think this Cruise will be the best that the Essex Scooby Crew has done thus far

Be aware that the delivery of the gifts will take in some lovely B roads
