Would anyone be up for doing an ESC Santa Cruise this year ?

I don't believe we have done one for a couple of years now, and for those that don't know the format .........

We donate gifts (wrapped for either boy or girl or suitable for either) and deliver them to a home for children a day or two before christmas.

It used to be that the santa cruise was not just ESC and we would end up driving a little way away to a home etc, but I feel it would be nice to find somewhere nearer, Essex or even within London ?

This is always a great event, seeing the kiddies (those driving and those receiving gifts :D ) and I believe really makes a difference to them.

So who would be up for this, obviously dates need to be made, a suitable home/hospital needs to be found (anyone ?) and arrangements need to be made with them to have us all descend upon them en masse ........ And it just makes another good reason for a blast.

Guess the aim would be to fill the show unit up with presents this year. Would be good to arrange collection points where members of the public could come and donate gifts. One other idea, Heart Essex (the new pants version of Essex radio) may still be doing their charity - Martin and Sue's kids. They may be able to help with a list of Childrens homes in Essex to donate to. Just a thought.

Date dependant for us as well. It's been a while so it will be good to dust the reindeer down & go Santa Cruising again. Plus little Eric gets to dress up. :thumb:

I'll make contact tomorrow.

As said, I feel we should do another one of these events, but I know there was a lot of 'behind the scenes' organisation going on.

G-Man, if you cannot make the cruise itself, just a present of the value of £5-£10 is fine, the kids faces just glow when they see the cars arrive, and glow even more when they see the presents :D

And no, it don't matter what car you turn up in, as it is the taking part that is important :thumb:

Supercue 29 October 2009 09:14 AM

Tell them it's your Birthday and they may put you through :top:

Andy,

Historically it has always been done over the weekend, and I would probably like to arrange this for a Sunday :thumb:
