what a night
I had the same with a sausage around 16 year ago. My now wife and I were out with her parents for dinner to tell them we just got engaged when I started to choke.
Scary as **** and even all these years later I can feel the panic when remembering.
Glad you're ok - not nice!

I can relate to the choking experience.
About 30 or so years ago I choked on a sweet - does anyone remember spangles?
We'll I was eating one of those, next monent I couldn't breath - sheer terror from what I remember now
My late father thankfully didn't give me a hind lick
, but I have very vague memories of being upside down and getting my back thumped

had a similar thing happen to me when i was on holiday with a friend and his family when i was about 14, sitting drinking juice with ice cubes and i laughed and got one lodged in my throat, my friend panicked and ran away leaving me alone, i managed to stagger to the door and outside where i met the (spanish) cleaning lady, by this time seeing stars and getting very faint, she also panicked and went to run the other way, just as i dropped to my knees she came running back and belted my back, ice cube smashed against the wall, total releif but still very very weary of them now 16 years later. It really does stay with you lol.
Glad you were ok m8. You feeling any better? I also was a company first aider and told the same reguarding the hospital check up and yes its for internal injuries due to the Heimlich maneuver, from what i remember they tried to ban it as well as if done wrong you can puncture lungs etc.
