Dingy.
If you're going to quote me, have the decency to quote the full statement! You're acting like a bloomin tabloid journalist!
I didn't say "cars with more bhp would be banned, period" at all. Nor did I ever say you were banned personally. I simply stated the club was becoming concerned with all the 'big bhp light-weight' rockets that were appearing on track. Concerned doesnt mean banned.
Kindly forward my mail back to me.

Stef.

Maybe i should post it on here.

I have been made out to be the tit, when an email from yourself said i would be banned. And you can't remember what you said.
My car weigh's not a lot less than a standard scoob....no mention of rockets in the email.

Please Hold on to my Membership until people have made a decision......your email say's i'm banned and the SIDC post say's i'm not.

So whats it to be. I only wanted my money back on the basis that i was banned, but i'm not sure if i am now......

Dingy,

I think you are trying to place the blame on Stef, but if you note his post on SIDC policy, you will note that the pressure seems to be applied from the likes of the Brands Hatch group, who want to keep the events for ONE MAKE car clubs only. I can imagine the only reason for this is Organisers Insurance/Safety etc.

Cem, i totally understand, and not disputing the facts.
But the fact is i thought i was banned. Not directly aimed at stef, but he sent the mail, so he gets the response....I think the SIDC events are run so well, its a shame this has happened....

But i do feel like i have been banned because my car has more power. shame the brakes are ****

Cool

Cem...so lets have a japanese cars drivers club, then you can come

Dingy-I am sure Stef meant no malice in that, and and actually as an SIDC member I enjoyed seeing your escort at donno chirping down the home straight. To me, as a member I find it no problems at all having other car types at the events. To be honest you probably would not attend a subaru meeting in holland as you would feel out of place-Definately not underpowered I hasten to add. Now, that said I supsect its because of the group that controls the clubs access because lets be honest-Although there were some serious number of scoobs there were Evos, GTiRs, Skylines, Cossies, SR1s, SR2s...perhaps someone at the group has said....'Hang on, the SIDC is a drivers club', not the SIDC (we saw at donno-i.e loads of varying cars) and perhaps it has turned into the Sexy Individuals Drivers Club....LOL I doubt it. As I said, lets chill out here...It is all being laid on Stef has directly his fault...the powers to be are clearly clamping down. Perhaps we need a statement from the Chairman to clear it up?

I would also like to point out that John Felstead actually owns a scoob as well. And should he bring his sport on track...We would all be left in shock! Ask Harj about wet Mannchester in the sport

Cool

Stef

This is not a criticism aimed at you. You put in a lot of work organising and running these events for the SIDC.

It is a shame however that the subject of Scoobs only at SIDC days (which I accept is very logical) gets it's first airing when Dingy feels aggrieved enough to post a complaint.

As I said, this is not a criticism, just an observation.

At the end of the day, everyone should now be happy.
Non-Scoobs aren't banned.
Substantially more powerful cars aren't banned.
Dingy isn't banned.
In fact nobody is banned (apart from all of the above at BHLG circuits ).
It's very hard pleasing all of the people all of the time.
Now, roll on the next Trackzone day so me and Harj can kick Dingy's butt!

Stef.
PS DJ, it was Craig actually.
The club was just considering all the options, that's all. We had BHLG on one side, members with Scoobs that missed out on Donno on the other, and the blooomin' lary Cossie muppets on the other! Is that too many sides? Arggggggghhhhh!!!!!

Don't blame me.

So with the issue regarding more powerful cars, is the Lupo still allowed on?

Teach you lot a thing or 2

I still stick by what i said in my earlier post..

Can't believe so many people had so many posts flying around over that one.

If we had feathers half of us in this forum would be airborne by now

Thank god nobody`s banned!
As you can see this is my first post on Scoobynet.
Even though I have been an RS owner for over 12 years, I am new to both of these BB`s.
In the last 4 weeks or so, I have been to both the SIDC events at Donno.
The first one was brilliant!, it was well organised, the track action was superb.
Saw Scoobys,Porsche`s, mitsubishi`s, RS`S,Lotus`s, Bm`s, Capri`s and even a Cossie powered Westfield.
Felt sorry for the guy that stacked the Elise though.
Went again Sunday just gone and had another blinding day, managed to put a couple of names to faces Dingy,Mike R and one of the Scooby boys (Chris)
Hopefully will meet Stef and Harj and some more of you guys next time.
Please don`t make the track days just for Scoobys as each different car just makes the day more entertaining.
I can understand that the guys that are members and own Scoobys want to be given priority on track days but could a percentage of the places be put aside on a first come first served basis for non Scooby`s?
Just a thought anyway.
Looking forward to the next SIDC track day.
Regards
Terry

Wow, what a thread! I was just thinking today about how the banter was getting out of hand and now I read this! My only concern for the multi-make track days is that in trying to "scalp" other makes there is the possibility of

(A) Someone having a big off of their own, thus putting a temporary halt on everyone's (expensive and paid-for) proceedings

and

(B) Someone taking someone else off.

Other than the "my ***** is bigger than yours" banter, was their any evidence of this sort of behaviour at Dono? If there was, surely the organisers could see it coming and whip out their black flag?

Maybe a "2 black flags and you're out for the day" approach would focus the mind a bit? No-one likes to be sitting waiting to go back out onto the track after someone has had an off.

From a personal note I thought MikeR's car was mad (I will pluck up the courage to blag a ride one day Mike!), Cem's EVO is lovely, Dingy's car looked interesting if a bit of a handful, the Skyline sounded beautiful and had most of us dreaming of ownership and the Exige had rusty wheels ;o)

As a non-scooby owner i would like to thank the SIDC and Stef for allowing me to their Track days, top days, top people and i am quite happy to be on the reserve list.

I personally would find it a tad boring on track with all Scoobs, but thats just me.

Their is very few non Scoobs at SIDC events, like Sunday - Skyline, Exige, CivicTR, 2 X EVO VI (1XTM), 2 X Cosies. Hmmm

I will still come to spectate and if on track will be happy to offer passenger rides in the Slick shod Scooby beater CTR.

C U all at the next Meet

Matt
Yikes, don't want to start any new banter.
