I dont know if cr*p posts r less in john forums as there inherintly more technical or just because he is strict (anti muppet ).
I think a couple more moderators in Gerneral could solve it wheres stef's dedication eh?

Dizzy,
I know the comment about Stef's dedication was tongue in cheek, and we all know how much time and effort he puts in.
However, AFAIK he doesn't get the chance to get to a computer as often as he used to, so it would seem sensible to add at least one other mod to the General forum.

Why not give all moderators privledges to move threads from general to their own forums. I know that JF would hoover up all the drivetrain threads with avengance, and Michelle wouldn't pass the chance to return muppet threads to where they rightfully belong. Most (OK all) of the moderators seem to have their head screwed on, so it would spread the workload over 15-20 people without having 15 mods in each forum. Obviously this is something SDB and the mods would need to discuss, but I think it could go a long way towards solving the issue

FB it is something that's being discussed at the moment(changes coming to a BBS near you soon ) There are a number of issues with letting every mod moderate general such as, that often people's opinion is different as to what belongs in general and what does not.
There's also the communications issue. I might send a mail to a user telling them why I'm going to lock the thread, and another more vicious mod might delete it altogether and then mail the user telling them why it was deleted.
The optimum I think is to have 2 or more mods per popular forum(general, non scoob and muppets) and they then work as a team, rather than as individual swooping in from time to time.
IMHO The critical path at the moment is Simon's time, not the direction we need to go in, as I think everyone is in agreement(until it's thier turn for their post to be moved/delete/editted )
