Strangely enough, my friend a couple of doors down says that he can get PS2 for £100 legit. I've not bothered asking him from where, but I think I will now!

Well I just sold my PS2 as I never used it after completing GT3 (well until I got bored anyways) and Tony Hawke 3 (excellent game).

My mate picks his X-box up from EB tonight (they open at 11.30 specially) so Ill see what its like before I decide to by one.

Gamecube worries me, i've had mine.....bout 5-6 months now i guess, and its still missing that killer game that makes it worthwhile playing.

the titles ive got are ok (luigis) and waverace (average at best) tho both look stunning, but i havent even turned the thing on in the last 2 or 3 months

badly needs killer mario or mario kart game.

I'll go along with Fosters (nice analogy)

Roshambo - depends on the games you like to play. PS2 has tons and tons of games available for it now, so you're more than likely going to find something you like. Gran Turismo 3 can be bought for £19.99 new, for example.

X-Box is more powerful hardware, but that counts for nothing if the games aren't there. Right now the X-Box has just one killer app called HALO.

Hold off til Easter weekend when there's *ALLEGEDLY* gonna be a price drop to £135 on PS2.

Hi there,
Kung foo also drop me a mail, the Xbox seems a good price, but the PS2 price is going to drop to £135.00 my mate works for EB and they have recived official confimation. It's desgined to undercut the newer more powerfull Xbox, this happens anytime now mid march 02.

Your man may need to re-consider his PS2 prices( Bloody PS1 never so cheap, so quick !!).

yes i have a direct source from the manufacturer

direct i can purchase for £100 & the xbox £200

i can confirm £135 PS2 will happen in march

ok so im selling the xbox but IMHO as a game player, give the xbox a chance, ok so games are not too hot right now, but ive seen some damn impressive stuff due for the end of the year. I have been more concerned about gameplay which i have been keeping a close eye on & i know theyre working on it

Thats a moot point, how low indeed.

Just a point, but given the choice of purchasing electrical goods from a store or a pub, with only £35 quid difference you would have to be pretty niave not to take the warranty etc from a store.

Not to mention loyalty cards and haggling would get you another 10% and some free games.

Sorry mate i did not want to hijack the thread, but how much lower indeed, you know your prices, your selling the kit, ***** in your court.......Good luck and i may yet be in contact re the Xbox

does anyone know whether there's a shortage of xboxes in the UK ?? if there's loads available, I might wait another month and see how well it is received.

I imported an american xbox 2 months ago with 3 games just bought another 2
I haven't touched the ps2 since, it doesn't compare, I bought the game wreckless at the same time my brother bought state of emergency for ps2. The ps2 game doesn't compare looks so old and dated (wreckless excellent graphics but small game)
It always takes a while for the games programmers to get a grasp of machine capabilities although Halo is a class game
I think the ps2 will only go downhill from here unless the copy market fires off like it did with the ps1
