How will they be in the Wet? Crap like R888's? Or ok like most 'everyday' tyres?

I've not tried them in the pouring rain yet, But on damp greasy roads they're surprisingly good (much better than the T1-R!), although they do need a fair amount of heat in them before they start to perform.
Hopefully it'll rain over the weekend so I can give them a blast in the wet.

Thought about polishing the scoob ready for the Scoobycity club stand at TA Snetterton this coming Sunday and...

**** it, Can't be bothered with that!
So, Went for a hoon round some quiet and muddy lanes where I live.
Looks much better than a coat of polish me-thinks, And with no effort on my part ...

They're a lot better in standing water than I was expecting and are obviously head and shoulders above the R888 (which shift no water whatsoever!).
I'd put these easily on par with the T1-R for wet use, Although as said before they do need quite a bit of warming up to perform (on a cold wet morning they're not good for the first few miles). Sadly these will have to come off for the winter as like the R888's, Toyo advise not to run them in subzero temperatures as they may fail.
But all in all, I absolutely love them and can't wait to test them at Brands soon

Sounds good mate, thanks for the review.

Would you say they are ok for everyday use?

Just I have winter tyres/wheels, and summer ones. I need new tyres for my summer wheels, so need something which I can put on when it gets warmer next year and leave them on for road and track use. Do you think they would be sufficient for that?

Cheers

As a daily tyre with some occasional fast road abuse I think they're brilliant. But, I have no misconceptions about how long they will last on track (they are soft), So I'll probably try them once but will stick to the R888's in anything less than a downpour.

Oh right, so maybe won't last too long then. I was thinking of using them as a daily tyre, with maybe 6-8 track days. Or do you think I'd go through 2 sets of them in that time?

As said before i've not tracked them yet, But looking at the wear from fast road use i'd be amazed if they last more than 3-4 track days on a lardy newage.

Tegiwa tow hook turned up and was fitted today. Nice bit of kit for £30 and looks good enough to leave on the car rather than just fitting it for trackdays.
Will also have some new aero fitted in the next few weeks, Can't wait

Tow hook...

Last years TA winning front splitter donated and fitted courtesy of Duncan (thanks a bunch mate ) and today I added some end plates to complete the set up. Should make quite a difference on track with the added down force and in the near future a certain rear diffuser will hopefully be fitted to compliment it

Pics…

A few of us had a festive day out at Brands with Opentrack yesterday and a great time was had by all
Credit to the marshalls for doing their best to defrost the track, But unfortunately it just kept freezing up in places and was a bit slippery to say the least (awesome fun though).

And a video from Fezza. Watch in HD from 7 minutes on and see just how interesting it got out there before it was called off...

Yeah, It was certainly different to drive Brands in the snow , Not sure I'd want to do it again! Was fun though

Thank you

Popped the car onto a ramp at work yesterday as the rear end was feeling a bit twitchy on cornering and found this…

I know the OE arb brackets flex a bit but didn’t expect it to shear from the chassis!!! What makes it worse is that I’ve got a track day booked at the new Snetterton 300 circuit for next Saturday
I’ve ordered another OE item to tide me over then it’s time for some Perrin stout mounts methinks

Had an awesome days driving at the brand new Snetterton 300 circuit yesterday, The scoob was faultless all day and didn't miss a beat (due to Duncans mapping skills )
The improvements MSV have made to the track are just fantastic; plenty of tight corners and high speed sections really do make for a fun track day.
Unfortunately Focused Events had way over sold the day (as usual) and coupled with the pouring rain and the fact that there were red flags every 20 minutes or so due to (mainly) Caterfield drivers running out of talent and spinning off, it was hard to get any decent length of time on track
Oh and running 3 Toyo R1-R’s and 1 R888 is interesting to say the least!
