Finally managed to find the time to get a power run with Harvey's custom up-pipe/fmic & map by Duncan.
There was quite an issue with wheel spin on the rollers which wasn't fully resolved and also the ambient temp was 10c over the previous dyno run, So I'm not quite sure how accurate the figures are? But as I'm not chasing figures and just want a reliable daily driver/track car I'm not really fussed.
The earlier spool and low down torque makes for a much more pleasant car to drive
Custom up-pipe FTW

Due to high under bonnet temps I decided I needed something to keep the heat off the FMIC inlet pipe as it was getting way too hot, And had a nose around on the net and found a product called Magmashield. The blurb says it's made from aerospace grade polyimide and a volcanic fibre matrix? I've no idea what that means, but...
It arrived today and was quickly applied
Looks blingy as hell, But if it does what it says on the tin then I'll be a happy bunny
Pics...
Anyone else using this product or similar to good effect?

With a trackday at Snett fast approaching and bearing in mind that MSV have banned all suction mounts for filming I decided to have a go at making something more suitable for the job...
Should hopefully yield good results

Removed my Prodrive rear spoiler to see what it looks like without and...
Yuk! Don't like the spoilerless look at all
Fortunately, I've got a carbon 3D “Big gay wing” being delivered on Friday, So that should make it look a bit more pleasing on the eye and more importantly help with some extra downforce on track

You think?
Anyway, Back to something a bit more sensible..
The “Big gay wing” turned up today and I quickly nailed it together. I'll fit it properly tomorrow.
For the relatively low price of it, I'm amazed with the quality of the kit .
I may get some brackets made to raise the height a little, But as long as works then I'm not really that bothered about the looks.
Can't wait to test it at Snetterton next month

Must say this is one of the best posts I have read. Loved the link to your "ring" trip. Fantastic experience that you will never forget. Good luck lads
I never realised this:
The Nürburgring is a motorsport complex around the village of Nürburg, Germany. It features a modern Grand Prix race track built in 1984, and a much longer old North loop track which was built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. It is located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) south of Cologne, and 120 kilometres (75 mi) northwest of Frankfurt. The old track was nicknamed The Green Hell by Jackie Stewart and is widely considered the toughest, most dangerous and most demanding purpose-built racing circuit in the world. Originally, the track featured four track configurations: the 28.265 kilometres (17.563 miles) long Gesamtstrecke ("Whole Course"), which in turn consisted of the 22.810 km (14.173 mi) Nordschleife ("Northern Loop"), and the 7.747 km (4.814 mi) Südschleife ("Southern Loop"). There also was a 2.281 km (1.417 mi) warm-up loop called Zielschleife ("Finish Loop") or better known as Betonschleife, around the pit area.[1] Between 1982 and 1983 the start-finish area was demolished to create a new GP-Strecke, and this is currently used for all major and international racing events

Fitted the wing today, And after a "very" spirited drive have to say that the difference between my old Prodrive spoiler and this is night and day. The rear end felt absolutely glued to the road
Maybe it needs to be a bit wider though

I've been using R888's for daily use for a while now but sadly they're getting a bit devoid of tread and as great as my Conti sport 3's are as a dedicated road tyre I've missed the hardcore element of the R888's (apart from in the wet!).
I've previously used the T1-R's on road and track and was far from impressed with the jelly soft sidewalls and the fact that they overheated sooo quickly, So I've chucked on a set of Toyo R1-R's which sit very nicely in between the T1-R and R888.
After some very spirited driving today I have to say that they are a genuinely superb tyre for general pottering about and hold there own with some fast and aggressive cornering.
They're not quite on par with the R888 for pure grip, But on the plus side the road noise is at a minimum and they're way more comfortable on rough roads. Not a cheap tyre by any means, But as I work for a Toyo dealer and we needed to test a set
Oh, And they look cool as **** as well...
