Thanks for the positive comments everyone
Simply an old soldering iron and some thin strips of the old back bumper for filler rods!! Cheap, cheerful but effective!!
I've welded up and smoothed the stoopid 1970's A pillar mounted aeriel. Sorry no progress pics. just an after one!!
Managed to get my front bumper looking a little less like it is in three pieces!!
Fillered and sanded!!
Trial fitted to the car with the filler all primered up.
Think you'll all agree I got the factory look I was after!!
Comments as always welcome

This is exactly what I want to do to mine because mine has loads of dings and needs a fresh coat of paint. Fair play to you, you are flying through the work
When can I drop mine off with you

Both myself and the wife have been very busy working so have had zero time to do anything on my Scoob
Got a day off today so got a little bit done.
Passenger side sill stonechipped and primed.
My FMIC needed some fettling, so got this done and mocked up my front bumper to make sure it still fitted ok.
I added some nuts, which I've welded on, under the front bumper bar so I can bolt it on instead of using the useless platic clips that usually hold it on. Anyone whos removed and refitted a classic bumper will know what i mean!!!
All the panels are on the car. Just need to stonechip the DS sill then its a case of flatting the whole car off then breaking it down for spraying!!
How she stands atm

Thanks. Must admit it has turned out much better than i thought it would!!
Having removed one of the wings I'm really pleased how rust free the shell is, considering she is just over 12 years old now! The only things that had a bit of tinworm were the rear of the two sill, all repaired now, and the original bumper bars that had practically disintegrated!!!

Thanx
Yeah I find that, seem to be constantly shifting kids toys, bikes etc out of my way I must get round to buying a shed for all that!!
Yes I'm spraying it myself. All that filling and sanding does get a bit demoralising at times but I keep thinking of the end result, thats what keeps me going!!
Its getting a little difficult finding time to do much as work and family life take up most of my time ATM, but I'll get there in the end (my 4 year old Scooby loving daughter will make sure of that!!! )

Awesome job. Know the effort involved as I've spent far too many of my weekends doing similar to my wagon. Was just going to do the rear quarter panels after dealing with some rust, which turned into the whole near side (was a different colour ) and then both bumpers for good measure.
Thought I'd finished it last weekend but then noticed marks under the fresh paint on the bumper - must have been something in my 800 grit
Still worth it though.

Small update. I have stonechipped the drivers side sill.
Also Hammerited the rear bumper bar
and attached the bumper using stainless nuts and bolts in place of those nasty clips that usually hold them on.
Need to go shopping for a compressor now, then there should be some major progress!!

Hi mate, brilliant job! Where the skirts easy to remove?
I have a 97 impreza & was thinking about doing a 95 Mcrae rally replica, which would mean removing the skirts & welding the holes.
Also what primer & sealer are you using?
Keep up the good work!

The primer so far has just been out of a rattle can, and the sealer is Barcoat, stops the fresh paint from reacting with the old underneath. Not sure which primer I'm gonna use, gonna take the advice of the paint shop I buy my paint from HTH
