Can We All Agree .....
L8rs kruel world!

I'm off to do more important things now, enjoy scratching each others eyes about how others dare to speak.
I think most people use these expressions in an ironic way or because they find them amusing. It is the effect of globalisation and the www.
However SN must be cleansed so no more mention of "old school toones", "back in the day" etc
Feel free to add to these abominations that we must never speak again........

I use it, I will use it again, I went to college in California and still use many of the phrases I used back them.
I have a good job, a nice house and good health, My liberal use of Americanisms really is not an issue to me.

I dont, I think that most people use them in a 'trying to sound clever' way: emulating the least educated section of American society, who b*stardise our language out of ignorance.
Shame on you, you should be put in a box and shipped to a remote island thousands of miles away, for daring to put 2 such incompatible words together like that to try and make a phrase.
Use a phrase, popular in another country, no thank you very much, we are English and have a language all of our own... USE IT!!

How is it that what used to be a problem has now become an "issue"?
I was taught at school that "proven" is not correct English since it is an ancient Scottish legal term! The correct word is as it always used to be-ie"proved"

Not as bad as people randomly inserting the word 'so' into sentences - such as 'I am so going to do that'.
Or people who say 'aks' instead of 'ask' - anyone remember Alan on Eastenders years ago ( big black bloke who was married to the blonde one who had loads of kids ) - he used to do it all the time, and for some reason the scriptwriters decided to put it in his lines 20 times every episode !
