A 5 year old £100k car still needs looking after like a £100k car.

What did my wife day when she first saw my scooby - Chav car. And my boss at works opinion... - it looks a bit chavvy....
Who cares as long as you are having fun be it sti, wrx, ST, RS - buy the car for you, not someone else.

Personally I love cars, especially fast ones, never really understood some of the attitudes of how some people have to defend the honour of the car they drive and insist it's the best car on the road....ever.

So Mountune ST "rapes" RS. Then, a few days later, RS meets ST in a dark alley accompanied by "Big Al" the 7ft 20 stone hulk of gay man flesh. Big Al then sets to work and **** rapes ST for all it's worth with massively superior handling and chassis set up
I think that sums it up.
I saw an ST being driven VERY badly yesterday by some muppet. I think he was trying to impress me (he passed dangerously in slow moving traffic and clocked the badge/twin pipes) I reckon - constant flooring it then heavy braking in very slow moving traffic.
Please Focus St, don't go the way of the Impreza turbo...

How can people say that Focus ST's handle better than Impreza's? LOL. They may be easier to drive, but they definitly do not handle better, its just fanboys that say that.
I was going to buy an ST, was 100%, until I drove one, they are ****.
The RS is a bit weak in person, from all the pre release pics it looked awesome, then I went to my local dealers and had a look, hate it. They keep ruining their "performance" cars by making them with FWD.
Impreza for me every time.

You drove a duff one then they aren't that bad at all for FWD and a 2.5 up front. Do need the Ford Approved Eibachs though.
If it handled so bad, how come it made it round the 'ring in a half decent time

All Focuses handle well - from the 1.4 to the RS.
I preferred the handling of a ST170 to the latest ST though - nimbler and lighter feeling. Newer one feels a bit nose heavy but still handles very well. Shame the ST170 engine was a bit cack.

I think the Impreza grips well too but a Focus does feel more nimble - I feel I can clip every apex perfectly in any Focus - with an Impreza I don't feel quite as accurate.
Many confuse grip with handling - Audis are the masters of grip over handling (except in RS models).

and what has that got to do with anything?
i love driving the RS and prefer it to some french tat. That is also an out and out track car, the RS is a sensible (more sensible than the noble was) Fun family car.

The ST hardly 'rapes' the RS in the evo article lol, it beats it to 100mph in about 10th of a second quicker which is not noticable on the road in the right gear, give it some corners and the RS would have far better traction and grip due to its better chassis and diff to cover ground somewhat quicker.
Its a matter of opinion which is the better to own if you wanted the choice, some prefer the quicker and mad looking RS, some would want the ST Mountune in a subtle silver to not stand out. The RS has more character, probably hold its value well and be sort after, and is a better base car for further mods, so in my opinion its the one I'd want when new, but then again I'd consider the new R26 Megane (what ever it will be called) or JDM FD2 Civic too if I was in the fwd market.
Both deliver great thrills along awesome roads like most hot hatches do, what ever you've got or want, just go out and play and enjoy..
