***BC Racing coilovers***
Tony.
PS i think the black/red Apex units look a lot better than the tacky gold of the BC
Not sure what you mean by control arms?
Just double checking spring rates again as Im confused about their initial suggestion

Yes, in stock and ready to dispatch

No problem.
We can get 3D front top mounts with both camber and castor adjustments and rear top mounts with camber adjustment but we havent ordered any kits with these options. We have ordered what 95% of our customers require, a good, solid suspension upgrade that gives minimum fuss and maximum civility in terms of noise and knocking along with the greatest value for money

Sorry to be a pain Bren but a couple of final questions before i order.
what degree of firmness would you say these give.
I wanted something a little firmer than std plus lowering the car at the same time.
The other option i have is oe type kyb from Camskill and Apex sport springs.
Would these coilovers be too firm even on their softest setting (i need to keep my spine as it is as i've got lower disc problems anyway and i won't be doing trackdays at all).
Are they just fit and forget, bearing in mind spring height and adjusting damping. So anybody can fit them with a bit of maintenance history.

You can also upgrade to rear camber adjustable rose jointed top mounts at an additional £56.50 per kit. Again, ten week lead time to bring such a kit over for you.

If you want a softer ride then I believe we can swap the New Age skits from 6/5kg.mm to a softer 5/4kg.mm set up but we cannot swap the GC8s from 5/4kg.mm to softer 4/3kg.mm. The 4/3kg.mm kits require longer travel dampers with softer damping rates.
However we can order one of these kits in for you if you are ok waiting a couple of months.

You can just fit them and forget but you might find that you cant remove the bottom mount after a few years of UK winters.
You should always copper grease between the damper body and bottom mounts when installing. Wipe off all excess grease after setting ride height.
They are not fit and forget like a stock set up. It is wise to run periodic maintenance on them to ensure that the bottom mounts dont sieze on the damper body, flush clean and regrease the top mount bearing etc. However this is only required once a year or so (depending on milage and enviroment of use) so its not a big issue.

With this in mind, is there a fitting guide supplied which provides details of this?
I'm hopeful it's something I might be able to tackle on my own and get the geo setup after.
looks like my diffs knackered, have a fair bit of debris in the oil
and strangely has a different diff to what is indicated by the chassis number and what Subaru says it should be
but after a lot of sucking up to the missus ill be calling you in the morning to order a set for a MY02 STI.
Thx,
Andy

Theyre recommending a 7/5kg.mm kit for a more supple daily driver.

Ordered mine this morning,
I can't wait now.Went to rally day on the weekend and a chap there with a blobeye had them fitted and he said they were the best thing he'd done to it.
Thanks Bren, it's a corker of a deal.

Mine just turned up this morning. Next day delivery ! super service.
Opened up the box and ......WOW
They look stunning,
it will be a shame to hide it all under the arches.
One thing though, there is'nt any instructions with them.I understand there might not be specific ones but anything would be a help.
Are the shock heights all preset to the same level,so can i fit them without worrying about adjusting them ? and what height would they be compared with std. Same with the front top mounts.
cheers anyway

Spring preload should be preset to around 3mm. Id double check that if it was me. Just measure the length of the spring as its sat on the damper. The resting spring length is printed on the side of the spring in the following format:
62.200.006
62 = i/d/ of the spring
200 = spring length in mm
006 = spring rate in kg.mm
So if you have a 200mm long spring then it should be 195-197mm long when assembeled on the damper

I would strongly advise you to remove the bottom mounts from the dampers, copper grease the threads and rebuild.
