The video i saw on the news had some bloke hit the footballer, before the footballer started dishing out the pain to the nearest bloke (not the bloke who hit him)

To be honest, if i was having an argument with a bloke and his mate gave me a hook, i would assume that they were both about to jump on my ****, and i would have started windmilling them to feckery

I have not seen any other footage.

Gerrard wasnt even there, it was his stunt double.

The guy in court today is the same stunt double, the real Gerrard is in the Camens with Ronaldo counting his money.

It sounds like the same footage its just not very clear. The victim is sitting on a chair, Some pseudo wideboy elbowed him in the face, then Gerrard (or his stunt double, which maybe he could use in matches for when he gets tapped on the shin) Grabbed the guy that was on the stool and hit him about 3 times.

Giving Huyton a bad name...

Glad he got off with it, complete waste of public money from start to finish.

Basically Stevie acted in self defence and the rest piled in and give the guy the slap... which was not in self defence

I don't care about the semantics of assault, self defence blah blah blah..

The guy is hanging around with scum who like to kick off in bars. Do you think Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry or Fernando Torres would ever be involved in anything like this?

The guy is a professional footballer and a role model to lots of children so he should act accordingly, and that includes who he chooses as friends.

how can you hit someone and get found not guilty,?
i wonder if it was a technicality, or that lad that got hit, said something to mess it up.

So if someone smacked you and you thought they were going to smack you again you would just stand there or would you defend yourself?

that lad didnt smack him though did he.
gerrard hit him first, infact i dont think he it gerrard at all.

if he'd have hit me first and i hadnt provoked him he would have got a size eleven right on the side of his knee.

Well according to the evidence, Gerrard acted in self-defence, so that lad obviously did something

if it was in self defence fair enough, maybe there are some more shots not being released,

i think i will go out tonight and give someone an "enry's ammer" just incase they start on me.

there must be different cctv clips, the one I seen has gerrard and his mate setting on a bloke who refused to treat him like royalty.

I cant understand how he could possibly get away with it,
what sort of message does it send out to youngsters

He didn't lead with an elbow, his mate did. He then hit the bloke because he feared he was about to be hit himself.

Which is probably all bollocks.

What I saw was a pissed up arsehole footballer acting like a complete ****, assuming he had some god given right to the remote, taking advantage of the elbow his mate gave the guy and then getting off with it because he's got a good lawyer who probably charges more per hour than the prosecution get paid a week and who successfully argued self defence

Many professional footballers are just gutter scum who would be in jail were it not for their ability to pay for the best defence money can buy, oh, and pay off the odd witness.

He was acting like a jumped up ****, got involved in a fight due to an event that he started, and he should have gone down for it. As should anyone who acts like that.

Just got to love good old SN.

"He hit him with his elbow". No, his mate hit him with his elbow.
"Assuming he had a God given right to the remote". No, the club manager told him he could have the remote.

I've not followed this case, at all, but even I know that much from the snippets I've heard. Still, let's not let the facts get in the way shall we?

I hope to God if I'm ever called up in front of a jury, you lot aren't within 1,000,000 miles of it!

Exactly, hit the nail on the head. I used to like Stevie G, but after this
I just think he's the same as the rest of the jumped up arogant ****s that lord it about, having tantrums when they don't get there own way.

Gerrard is a complete *****, he waited for his mate to elbow the guy in the face, once the guy showed signs of being hurt, gerrard steamed in with 3 uppercuts (which did **** all by the look of it).

Typical scousers hunting in packs, picking on weaker prey!

Gerrard should have got fcuked over for that, if it had been a normal person, they would have at least got a suspended sentance!
