Only messing, I'm more excited than words can describe and wish I had kept my order for the RS in Dec last year rather than buying the 330s which was a mistake.

Bet you can't wait Mog.
Ordered my RS in Feb, just learnt production has been put back till Nov now.
Funny thing is I got an 'exclusive' invite to my local Subaru dealership as they have a top Management type visiting who is able to offer some exceptional one off deals.
I'm tempted to see what I can get a 330 for!

There is a white RS sitting in my local Ford garage for sale, not even registered yet, also the garage owner is selling his green one.
The garage has had 7 RS's sold in the last few months. A lad from somewhere in England travelled up last week to pick one up.
If you cant wait, its the Ford garage in Fort William.

Thanks for that, I've waited this long so a couple of months won't make much difference. It would also cost me nearly £2k more to go elsewhere now due to the price increases.
Just hope it comes before the end of the year so I don't get stung by the Vat increase.

i said this to months ago in post 22 on this thread
the RS is a fantastic car
it is a great car to drive
it is fast
it is fun to drive
it has unreal grip for a two wheel drive (see clarkson)
it sounds awsome as good as the scooby rummble and as adictive, i never bother with the radio
it looks great
it gets the atention of a supercar (is that good or bad ?)
I have to say i havent changed my mind im still loving it
iv done over 2000 miles it it now and it is getting faster every month
it still puts a smile on my face just looking at it
Its still fun to drive and still feels fast as long as its not a hot day (You can feel its slower)
the grip is great my driving will never unsetle the car it gives me so mutch confidence ive never felt as confedent in any car,the fasest ive been is 145mph (private road ) and it honestly felt like 90
i have a little test track near me off the roundabout up the bank and to the bridge my scooby wrx did 105 my yam r6 did 110 the RS do's 125, all down to confidence and speed
it still gets loads of attention but not as many people taking pics because its not as new now, loads of people stop and talk or you or you come outa B&Q and there will be sombody looking inside it
i was waiting for the wife in the middle of town yesterday and was embarased at how many people came over to look at it
Over all im still realy loving it, i give it a good clean today been busy with work so not done it for a few weeks
My few niggles are (just to keep the haters happy )
the turning circle is so bad its embarasing, in town trying to park it or to make a tight bend like in car parks
brakes can bite hard at speeds of 2mph
the green square headlight washer has fell off and ive lost it, but im going to see about this under warenty
The RS rocks

I'm back...
What a day.....2 1/2 drive down to Rates in the Subaru part ex, inspect the car which is great and looks fab and very glad we chose FW (not having seen a FW in the flesh before). Do the paperwork and then I'm told that they will register and tax it....15mins normally but they then find the vista screen is down and can't access DVLA....could be 5mins or a couple of days before it comes back on line.
Now faced with the drive home in our old car and the RS being delivered.......well :censored: off, with the wife not saying alot!!!!!!!!
Sit around for 1/2 hour and try 1 more time to log on to DVLA and the salesman says with a straight face I will go and get your tax disc now
3 1/2 hours to get home with the rush hour traffic but a joy to drive, lots of stares and a couple of people taking pics.
Pics below from the dealership, some more to follow later.

Can't understand why anyone would want to mod a 300bhp fwd car and loose the warranty on a car nearly costing £30k. If you are that bothered about performance in the first place why buy a fwd hatchback.

Dealers cant detect maps, unless they drive an d do logs, but the majority of the major software companies offer switches with their software so you can turn it off.
P.S
In a recent car mag, a mapped cupra and std rs beat the new scooby sti round the track and in a straight line

Cost, economy, and practicality.

I'm pretty sure that the dealers and more importantly have ways of telling if a car is mapped.
The dealers won't check at service time or even a warranty claim for a duff stereo. However, go in with a fubar'd gearbox or turbo and I bet they do some digging.
After all, VW have a it more knowledge of their ECU and code than the likes of Revo, APR, Superchips etc.

What is is like in 2nd gear in the wet in a straight line on full throttle?
If that is OK, what if you have half a turn on the steering wheel and are trying to get out of a wet uphill corner on a rough patch of undulating tarmac?
Any lift off oversteer?
Are the bonnet vents functional or ornamental?
Can you debadge the RS bits easily?
How does it compare to a Scooby in the wet?
How would it compare to a 200 PS Golf GTI not in terms of acceleration but in overall handling balance vs its power? Does it feel overpowered in comparison to its chassis, balanced, underpowered? How would it compare to a GTI as a daily driver? Have a 3 year old GTI... always shopping
Anyone like to make a comparison with a B7 RS4 or 335i in terms of performance, handling, body control etc?

I popped into my Ford dealer last Saturday to have a look at the white one they had.
I have to say I liked it alot. (apart from the fillets under the headlights - what were Ford thinking?)
Reckoned they could get me one in no more than 12 weeks in any of the 3 colours and spec.
A tiny, tiny bit of me still thinks I should've got one several months ago.....

I agree completely. Dealers will use any excuse to wriggle out of a warranty claim.

Debadging wont do alot due to the bodywork modifications which are so apparent.
