I was offered a green one for 25,995 a couple of weeks ago with 10 miles on the clock, no lux packs though but you could get them added.

Anchor Automotive | Home Page

Delivery was as soon as i had paid.

Or what about a cheap Cat D.

How would you get the lux packs as they are factory fit items and not dealer fit ????

My two local dealers have 4 in, in all colours but not sure if they are all available for sale - one is defo available as a cancelled order.

Very tempted to go over for a test drive on Saturday, but I would end up buying one!!

For info, if the RS is anything like the ST, lux packs won't be available for retro fit so buy a STD RS at your peril.

Skipton Ford have one in each colour apparently and Rufus Carr have one as well, not sure which is the canx order though.

I'm thinking of going to Skipton on Saturday for a nose

when you said local, I thought you were a Lancastrian. Skipton is a bit out of the way for me. I'm travelling to Cumbria this weekend and would have jumped off the M6 to have a gander at one, but Skipton is a bit of detour!

I have to say im not a fan of this new RS, seen 1 refuelling at the pump last night and i just thought Chav car with a loud bodykit straight from Halfords. (Driver actually was in tracksuit and baseball cap)

They are not at all quick, 14.5 to the ton is certainly nothing to shout home about and FWD traction is a no-no.

A big fail imo, i'd be embarrassed to tip up in work in that, boss would think i was going through a midlife crisis wanting to be 21 again. Rear spoiler is hideous and something you would find on an L reg Laguna on some chav infested council estate. It's a maxpower car, end of for me.

Sorry.

I am in Lancs, but only 10 miles from Yorks so I'm on the borders.

Each to there own, would be boring if we all liked the same.

But How big spoilers are fitted to scoobs/evo's and the likes?

Have to say that with over 300bhp, I'm surprised they aren't quicker.

Even my soot chucker is quicker to 100...

Indeed, but your soot chucker has massively more torque and not that much less power.

Some tests have 0 to 100 in the high 13s.

Which makes it he fastest FWD hatch, and only a second behind the WRX STI.

Aforementioned STI aside, there isn't much that quick for the same money. And I know what one I'd choose in the RS vs Impreza debate

No doubt they are quick - would just have expected proper sub 14 to 100 and 5.5 or less to 60 (seems to be just under 6s).

Don't disagree.

I suspect the front wheel drive pegs the 0-60 around 5.7, which in turn will hurt the 0-100 time. Supposed to do over 160 flat out, which is pretty impressive.

Evo had a group test with an RS in it a month or so ago.

RS topped out at 147mph on a 2m straight. It was up against a Revo Leon Cupra who obliterated it, reaching 140mph a full 10s quicker and onto a vmax of 159 over the 2m straight.

0-100 for the FRS IIRC was around 14.5 in that test too.

edit...found a scan of the test...

http://picasaweb.google.com/warrenco...45460151695538

Cupra 0-100 in 12.5
STI 0-100 in 13.1
RS 0-100 in 14.2
R26 0-100 in 14.9

Picasa Web Albums - warren.*** - S3 Fuel pump

Cupra 0-100 in 12.5
STI 0-100 in 13.1
RS 0-100 in 14.2
R26 0-100 in 14.9
Yes, and the Cupra had 360 bhp and more torque

More relevant was the fact that the RS posted a higher to speed than the R26R Megane and the STI, and was as fast to 140 as the Scoob.

Renault was slowest on all tests, except lap time where it was unsurprisingly fastest on its road legal slicks. RS was faster round the lap than the significantly more powerful and lighter tuned Leon.

Surely the Revo Cupra is a bazzed up/tuned motor too? So does it really count?!

Sti IV twelve years ago did 0-100 in 12.5 for Autocar with 280bhp.

The Focus probably weighs as much as a skip full of bricks.

Just under 1500kgs for the RS - damn heavy for a FWD hatch...

Relevant to who? In the real world how many people get to 140mph on a regular basis or want a top speed of 160+ other than bragging rights down t'pub?

Im not sure if there are even any discounts on the RS but there is a chap on the CTR forums that got a 330s new for £26k from memory. Dont get me wrong I think Ford have done remarkably well for a FWD car and some excellent PR/hype which will make it a winner in terms of sales but Im still not convinced.

Neither a ford or a scoob. Civic Type R (FN2) on lease at the moment. I did test drive the '08 STI though and thought it was a good package. Looks a lot nicer in the flesh especially in white. Running costs scared me towards the more practical Honda especially as lease deal very good and doesnt tie up my money in a car.
