Pink is gay, too much pink = gay, sti pink is gay, i hate the pink flashes on my sti which will get changed, however its not so bad with crystal grey body colour. Anyway alot of pink is gay
well on friday we took the car for a test to snetterton after it finally being semi completed and mapped thursday night. we got 401 bhp @1.3 bar so that would be ok for a first outing. after a whole day of geometry and mapping she was good to go.
car was a nightmare to get on a trailer and our first attempt took over 2hours, meaning we didnt arrive at the hotel until 3 in the morning. after 5 hours sleep we headed to the track. after arriving we went to unload only to find that the van lock had broken, we couldnt take the car off the trailer without the wood from the van. so after an hour we finally broke into the van. the car was then quickly unloaded and taken to the paddock. by the time i had got changed into my racewear a nice size crowd had gathered around the car, with people looking inside, outside, boot and engine bay and quite a few taking photos
i spun the car quickly to noise testing and ..................it failed
112db, were going home. the mood plumited as we began loading up the van to take the 4 hour trip home, then like an angel from above, the soundest marshall in the world sorted us out, the guy was a legend, he gave me a chance to run if i could pass the moving db levels, i had 3 laps which i had to drive normally (i was obviously not driving normally i was rolling around practically we even limited the rpm to 6000) to get the car under 98 db, so then we re unloaded and got our **** together, fired the beast up and i hit the track lap 1 98 db lap 2 98 db lap 3 98db. thank **** for that so he gave us our noise sticker but it was already lunch time. after lunch i would begin to learn a bit about the car.
we were first out on track i was already in the pit lane
went out not really knowing what to expect first corner turned in and the grip was unbelievable and i truley mean unbelivable the suspension and components were the best 6k i have ever spent, within 3 laps i was in total disbelief at how good the car was handling wise and came into the pits. we jacked it up ant tyre wear was perfect over all four tyres with the conatct patch was the whole width with perfect tiny blisters from one side of the tyre with no degridation to any tread grooves and it was 26 degrees air temp friday

the rear just felt a bit anxious at times but it was amazing for straight out the box, tech team gave me full revs and the full 401 bhp for rest of afternoon
3 clicks harder front two softer rear, 5 degree of rear camber and a front caster a small bump and rebound change all round and as i was sent back out, tech guy was logging all changes on the laptop. these changes made a big difference the car now needed hardly any steering input and would sling shot itself through corners with no body movement whatsoever, i was litterally screaming with excitement at how good the handling was power was a bit down for my liking but that will be sorted and by end of next week she will be running early 500's. the rest of the day just got better and better, it was easy and by the end of the day my confidence was sky high after sucessfully spending the afternoon chasing a 500kg 200bhp 1.4 bike engined motor (in the pics) i felt happy and finished the day with a nice spin out at russels
car is amazing and once power is sorted it will be a real weapon. no for the pics

Looking good (if a little gay with the pink bits LOL)
Whats your plans for the exhaust? 112dB is fairly loud for static. TA is normally 105dB I think.
5deg rear camber :O doesnt look like its running that in any of the pics, and that is a huge amount! Looks like your running about 5deg castor from the pics though. That'll give you nice direct steering.

That looks awsome! Can I ask what you've done in the boot? Not sure if my eyes are playing about lol is it a flat floor reflecting something or is it a flat floor with a recessed square bit towards the rear? And if it is recessed what's that for?
Gaz

thanks dude, your cars a work of art aswell so as soon as you fire it up the felling of wanting to murk me with an axe will slowly fade away, hopefully this will inspire you to get your **** in gear

no your not going mad
the boot has been cut away for weight the metal is the structure for the rear diffuser and will double up as a recess for the fuel cell in 2011's round of mods

voltex in japan, they cost loads and took 3 months to arrive, vivid racing are the only place that you can get the from, they then needed a day of sculpting to assure a good fit as they are for the voltex front bumper not the front bumper i have
cheers guys, if my two biggest critics can only complain about the pink then im happy
trust me the suspension settings are what i said go up to the clinic and look at it from the front on all you can see is the bottom half of the wheels. exhaust will be sorted today, then it will have its few new bits and a new mapping session to get the extra 100 brake

looking at things again - in the pics it actually looks as if the rears are running +ve camber LOL bizzare (sure the pics werent taken before rear camber was setup?), guess you do need to be on a flat surface, and with a good viewing angle, but I would have thought 5deg neg would be very very visable even in pics (you can see the neg camber on the front).
Am i one of you biggest critics??
You had it on scales yet?

You sure you havent got your camber mixed up with your castor Matt?
5 degree is, err, pretty wild on either the front or rear. Must be generating some cornering force if you need that amount of camber.
Sounds like things are looking good for you at Brands.

5 degrees camber is a bit wild ste however it does all depend on spring rate and roll of car and also track, i have run 5 degrees on mine on some tracks.eg i ran on mine at oulton on dry day 4.37 degrees on one front and 4.88 degrees on the other front due to having an adverse camber at cascades. this i found the best even tyre wear at front. i always run over 4 degrees castor on front, rear camber settings were about 1 degree down from front. silverstone was less camber for me and a stiffer spring rate by pre load.
