i believe that once you have done your ards test then you can send off for your race licience group b.

ards tests are quite easy to book and are being taken on plenty of cucuits all over uk, cost around £300 so i wouldnt worry too much about this matt

cadwell park track day sounds good to me mate, go on openpitlane.co.uk and click on trackday calender and pretty much all trackdays available are on there with links

the twists and turns of my time attack entry continue, ill cut a long and fairly boring story short, had an e-mail this morning from rob barnes, i will now be starting my first time attack in club class, if within two rounds i am too quick (which i doubt in year 1 with an untested car) i will be moved up to club/pro, it means i dont need an ards licence, but i may well still persue it just in case i do need it.
i am a lot happier with this arrangement, gives me a chance to learn the car and gain some experience of driving laps in anger

Matt,

Getting an Nat B license means you can run the car on test days which can be a bit quicker paced and better organised than a regular trackday, not so good for driver training but very good for car setup testing.

I'll pop for a watch, what dates Cadwell?

Mine wont see the light of day before Easter, too much to do around the house, once thats done I can make a start on prepping the Scoob for a few trackdays.

i wont be taking the subaru on there even if it was done 1st time round, its very tight and technical, been doing runs of it on the simulator and its hard, there is a very tight end section through some high banks then round an extremely tight right to the start/finish line, there are loads of leaps of faith where you appear to be full throttle but you cant see beyond the apex so you just got to hope your line is good
i think its origionally a bike track thats why its so narrow. it looks pretty scary, onboard laps in a radical on you tube look mental

Its my local track and I love it, Hoping to get in the low 1.40's this year.

Utaka: A lot of TA newbies wont have driven tracks before getting there on the day. Adds to the excitement LOL

Knockhill: We are having a 4hr trackday at Knockhill on sat 6th Feb if you are interested.

trackscotland.co.uk :: View topic - TrackScotland Knockhill Trackday - Saturday 6th Feb 2010

If that date doesnt suit we have others - trackscotland.co.uk :: View topic - TrackScotland 2010 Dates

You'll struggle to find a full day (9-5) trackday at knockhill

6th and 7th Feb are two consequtive 4hr weekend sessions.

6th - TrackScotland
7th - KH HotMarques (car value of 15k+....they are flexible, but a bit prissy on race cars)

Cadwell is a good laugh. If you get your lines right when coming back up the little hill and get your foot well in, you will be airbourne opposite the club house.

Nailing it over the blind crest of the home straight hill and stamping on your brakes for the 90deg left hander, gets your passenger touching the windscreen with their nose!

Not sure what the actual course names are for those area's.... I was too busy having fun to find out!
