If you look at many race cars, and WRC cars you will see that most of the OE grill is actually blanked off as they manage the airflow out the rad much better. For instance on hawkeye WRC Impreza the upper half of the grill is totally blanked off (some have a small opening to feed a transmission cooler) and only the lower half feeds both the intercooler and engine radiator.

You are spot on mate and especial when its a sponsored car so that it always on the back of the list when there are other paying work to be done in the garage!

But hey it is getting closer

When are getting to fire up your engine Utaka?

Hi mate been watching your thread on here and 22b lol. Can i ask about your rad setup please. Do you have any pics of the rad with turbo fitted? and also who made the rad for it. Really thinking about front mounting the turbo and the only thing that bothers me is the lack of space for a custom rad

A lot less space on a classic, especially if you go silly turbo size. Certainly not worth the hassle and work if its an everyday car.

Millzy555...P20SPD(Steven) has alot more knowledge on the front mounted turbo on a classic as he and along with others built up the Fat Banana so experience certainly counts.

Steven is defiantely right regarding about the set up for a road car tho...Certainly not worth the cost/time/hassle involve unless you was chasing to meet a personal target!

What are you building your car for?

Unbeleivable... the term "car-****" is what this thread is all about!

Thats some seriosuly sexy modding and fabricating! Talk about perfection to a manufacturers standard

If its not already on the cards, you guys should think about doing this on mass and get some prices sorted and customers ready to roll on it

I cant wait to see more...

Oh thanks for the kind words Alex...but tbh it will be out of budget for most people if they can't diy it.

Its taken alot of man hours to get to where it is now so i dare not think how much it'll cost to do it as a proper job.

But seriously Peter, superb workmanship and I've spent £10k on a past Scooby in one year and didnt come close to achieving anything near the build you've got... if you're talking circa £10k for the work you've done, I would still give it consideration!

Its so easy to spend a fortune on these cars and achieve relatively nothing. If you could pay a lump sum for a tested and proven build which give awsome power, then why mess about trying to do it yourself bit by bit and having to go thru trial and error...

I think I might do that with my next Scooby... buy a std one and save up ~£10k to spend all at once on a pukka build

It's just the turbo setup for sale.

So, turbo, inlet and exhaust manifold, exhaust, chargecooler etc etc

OIC...me bad!

I thought you was selling your set up there!!!

Anyways....the nasioc set up... would prefer the turbo being on the center line and FMIC....full boost by 5500 to 5700!!!I'm sure the Banana is alot livelier than that.

Oh right I see... ok $10k for the turbo set up is a bit much... if it included all the other bits then it was a no brainer. I should of known thats the case otherwise more ppl would be doing it.

In that case I dred to think how much the whole sha-bang works out at...

Alex, have you priced up what it would cost to make that turbo setup new? All the custom fabricated stuff is included in the price!

Alex...i'm sure Mark or Paul could help you price up a front mount turbo project kit for you as both have done it on a classic.

I'm not doubting that at all and I have no idea about pricing, but on that video on nasioc, it looks like a hell of alot more work has gone in apart from the tubby and pipe work. That inlet is a bit different and I'm sure there's many more things to modify to get the engine to run at 900+bhp... how bonkers is that power... and I gotta add, that tick over is almost musical... I could listen to it idle all day long!

I've just spent a small fortune on my current car so these are just ideas for many years down the line when its time to move on and get another scooby

...just wished I'd clocked on sooner

I thought $6500 for that kit was a steal. Even if he shipped it to the UK and you paid duty is still good value
