Hotdog!
We have a winner and clearly a man with a fetish for watches, but hasproven he has genuine ownership.
I still call bull**** on the rest just stating "I own this" and "I own that".
Make with the custard!

I dont wear leather straps so it has never been worn.
The stainless bracelet is heavy but not clunky, its slinky in fact.
Each link is articulated at two points and is held together by two screws, the joints are fixed via a screw and tube so they act like a bearing.

Get a watch from a watch manufacturer rather than a fashion house.
Try and get an automatic rather that quartz.
Save a bit more.
I ended up with a longines evidenza after using my buying technique! I wanted a leather strap and elegance.

Go to a jeweller and try a few on that you like. It's suprising that some look better in the window than on your wrist.

I dont think a Luminor Daylight is minimal, its a busy, big chrono, with date.
I bought it after watching a film with Piers Brosnan in, about a diamond thief, he or a co-star had it on when on a fishing trip and it caught my eye straight away, I needed one.
But I do know what you mean Panerai are usually minimalistic watches with good clear clutter free function.
I dont like leather as it marks too easily, and I dont like the fact it has little weight, I like to know I have a watch on.
Pete Higham give us a clue what you want....all we have to play with at the moment is the budget.

Looks OK for the price.
It uses a half decent Swiss movement too.....

I dont like canister crown covers though.

Just a BTTT for the watch service thread...none of my watches have been serviced, other than the Jupitor Pilot which was "serviced" by Breitling yet went to a place in Milton Keynes, it had a battery and seal replacement and cost me £180, I was without my watch for 10 weeks, I will never bother again unless a watch loses any of its functions.
