Morning Hedge, I cant even find anyone selling the oem rubber ones (unless I go through the pain of contacting Subaru) which I had in my hawk and fozzy, and whilst they only sit in the bottom they were completely waterproof in indestructible
Morning guys, I thought I would post up some images for feedback, on a new fog light cover panel design I am working on for the pre facelift hatch STi bumper. Which do you prefer, and would there be any interest in this if it was to become available?
i done something similar with a set of standard blanks and side vented them - i opened the ends to vent to a CAI i had at the time. the issue i found was that the air flowing in ended up pushing/popping the covers out - they where new covers also so tabs where all perfect etc
the problem is the bumper skin, and where the vent was located - it was hitting the outside of the foglight hole which give the air nowhere to go. so if you can somehow redirect your vents you should be on to a winner...

Standard:
Smooth blank trim with side vent:
Smaller side vent with large main intake:
let me know what you think 👍🏻
TBH..... Both look really good, the smooth one allows you to put STI stickers on like the face Lift front have on them, a cheaper and better option that a full front end upgrade i think. Well done.
I've got a set of rear Rally Armor Mud Flaps for a 2008-2014 Subaru Impreza STI hatchback that are of no use any longer.
They have only been fitted to the vehicle for less than 500 km and are like new.
They come with all brackets and fixings needed to mount them without modification to a 2008-2014 Subaru Impreza STi but them may fit other models.
I am after £80 ono
Got some sad news today, my STI that was at my mechanics for a head gasket job has turned for the worse. The block is not saveable. I really don't have much in the way of funds to buy a short block and go that route. I could potentially buy a full EJ257 or try sell the car as a rolling shell. What does everyone think? It's a 2008 Blue hatch and I think it's way too nice to be broken for parts but maybe someone could save her. How much do you think I could get for it? I've had a look and I can't really find an entire engine but I'd love it if someone had one I could buy
Not a lot of updates, the car sailed through its MOT and had its yearly service at TDR (oil/filter & brake fluid); I only drove less than 800 km since the last service/MOT !
I've been humming and harring about fitting the S206 suspension I have but if I sold it it would fund a sports cat downpipe and a remap, decisions decisions!
Furthermore, after countless hours of polishing I have almost finished with the exterior paint correction (just the rear bumper and hatch door left to wax). It's the first time I've used these products and I really like them. The paint had a lot of holograms, swirls and a few scratches courtesy of its previous Japanese owner(s) but luckily there was enough thickness (~120μm in most places) to allow for correction. I used Angelwax Resurrection on an orange polishing pad (2 passes per panel) followed by Angelwax Redemption on a blue finishing pad (2 passes per panel). The panels were cleaned with Bilt Hamber cleanser fluid, a process which I have skipped in the past but which is very important in order to get rid of the oils found in polishes and should allow the wax to bond better. I've sealed with Fusso soft 99 wax.

depends if you want to keep the car....or just put an engine in it to get it sold/traded in
the problem is buying a 2nd hand bottom end you have no idea what state it is in no matter who or what tells you on buying - and that would always play on my mind. buying block halves again theyre second hand so could well be ovaled bores etc - the only hope is if you managed to source 2nd hand from a reputable engine builder but they are usually few & far between.
i had a similar situation of potentially needing new block halves and i was gonna go down the path of buying one of those 2018 ej257 Type RA bottom ends with the revised pistons from ICP for circa 2.5k and then just a safe target for it circa 350bhp.
in the end fortunately my block could be saved by going up to 14mm head studs - but ill save all that story for when i get the car back!
