the forums above Dave are the best bet to keep all GR stuff together as this site will nenevr spplit the models as everyone will want teh same for their models.

Hayward & Scott centre fitted on ours for over a year now, sorry can't remember how much it was but, we can go back to standard if needed & my thought was you pay a lot for the car, no point in skimping for the price of an exhaust

Let them have it I say mate, it would be a lot easier to navigate through all the stuff on SN, especially the technical sections, if it was organised into the different models (i.e. Classic, Bugeye, Blobeye, Hawkeye & Hatch etc.)

Knowing RCM it will be silver plated & cost more than everyone elses

Did RCM do any other mods on your car mate?

Would be interesting to see what they think needs doing to the hatch to make it better and what they are thinking of putting on sale for it...

Its got
362mm AP 6 pots on the front
330mm AP 4 pots on the rear
Front and rear roll bars have been changed
Every suspension bush has been replaced with hard bushes and or spherical bearings
Front lip spoiler
Different grill
Full 3" modular exhaust system from turbo back. Making it easy to swap in Cat's or extra silencers.
Various other stuff, none of which bothered me, hence i never listened when Olly told me I believe most of it has been shown in Banzai magazine.

The suspension bushes make it a bit harsh in town traffic and low speed pot holed roads, but out in the open it really is very well set up in the handling department. Light years ahead of my old classic for the daily commute. It's just as comfortable to drive as M3 it has replaced.

Is that a 2.5 inch system your running, is that the standard bore for the car in the first place ??

I also noticed no one talks about the up pipe, does that mean you keep it as standard ??

Cheers for the comments regarding the seats - my wife has them fitted to her RB5 and they are simply the best seat out there imo.

As for being too big for them - my mechanic who does all the work on our cars is 6'5' and 19st and fits yet they also hold me 5'9' and 12st. Very expensive but worth it.

Yes, they did come from Revolution - Glenn's a friend and after taking a trip in his car was convinced that the driving experience would be much improved by fitting better seats - was going for Cobra Daytona's but then these turned up!

Very interested to hear what the Magnaflow sounds like - will get some vids of it once done.

Has anybody rolling-roaded their car? - mine should be going on the rollers before end of month so be interesting to see how close it is to the quoted factory figures (bum dyno reckons it's doing slightly more than quoted.....).

Drumsterphil

I think I would fit into the seats. It was more me fitting them in the car.
I don't know any mechanics up here that I would let fit them.
My cousin runs a mark 2 escort rally car and his mechanic is an ex Colin McRae mechanic. I haven't managed to convince him but someone he would recommend might be able to fit the whiteline goodies and seats (fingers crossed). I still need to get the car to ayrshire. At least it is closer than newcastle or down to Litchfields.

Can I ask another few questions for you lovely hatch owners?!

Have any of you replaced the standard panel filter for a direct replacement like the K&N/Green?
If so did it make any difference at all - I have a Green one in my current Hawkeye and although there is obviously no difference performance wise, it does definately sound better - a much more pronounced air woosh!

Does the 330S require the reflash that the early STI's were supposed to have done.

Does the 330S have any different suspension components over the STI(I suspect not) and does the car feel better with just lowering springs (whether they be Eibach/Prodrive etc) and the steering re-valve?

How good is the SatNav in the 330S?

Thanks a lot in advance guys - this is a cracking thread. As mentioned this forum would benefit from having different sub-forums for different models.

My 330S purchase is still in the balance - hopefully will all be resolved soon.

I've got the Cosworth panel filter.

Not noticed a single bit of difference although it looks better and i'm sure filters better than the standard monstrosity!

As far as i am aware the 330s does not need the reflash, and has the same suspension system, i think its the seats that make the car feel better.
the nav unit is a kenwood and is very good, the best i have used so far and i have had a few.

The standard air intake on the hatch is very restrictive so cant see an uprated panel filter making any difference. caik on the other hand makes some superb noises and does increase performance

Well, too my suprise today I got stuck trying to get up our street and despite every combination of auto/manual diff setting and traction control on/off could not get anywhere. Had to give up, park the car and trudge to work in the snow.

Does anyone know if the hatch has a mechanical centre diff or is it electronic (like the haldex on Audi). The mechanical diff on my 22B (especially in diff-lock) feels unstoppable in comparison and would have coped much better.

Will be trying again tomorrow (fingers crossed!)

I had some long chats with Prodrive before deciding to go the PPP route. I asked about fitting a caik. I was told the opposite Rob, during there testing they found the standard air intake to be quite efficient and more than capable of handling the type of power considered safe on this engine.

They advised me not to bother with caik regardless of whether or not i decided to purchase PPP.

I am amongst friends and i know you won't laugh

On hearing this i took the caik i had bought two weeks earlier back to the shop and asked for a refund . I have decided to try and ask the questions before i go into "must have mode" in future

I trust what you say about the Intake on a sensible power output
but me being me had to go a step further, my induction kit and exhaust were more than efficient infact we maxxed the injectors out at 400bhp

Question (probably a stoopid one) - how do you get to the front towing hook if you have front fogs fitted as, for the life of me, I cannot see the flap that you're meant to pry open to insert the towing took.

Help?!

Its on the edge of the "mouth" Look to the left of the right hand fog at the edge of the grille opening. Just where it curves up from the flat.

Cheers Simon but there definitely isn't such an opening on the STi (think you have the WRX version??) - it looks like a classic Subaru design afterthought of not being able to get to the towing eye when you have the fogs fitted! D'oh.

(Still stand to be corrected tho' if anybody knows differently)

so basically, reading what silver demon has posted, push the VDCS button once you have turned the ignition on, will turn off the system and is good for snow?

i'll try that tonight.

and what is Hill Start Assist?????

Hill start assist is where you can put it in gear on a hill say for a hill start, release the hand brake and whilst keeping the clutch depreased the car will automatically hold the brakes for you so you do not roll back, 2 seconds I think but long enough to make hill starts a piece of cake, actually one of my favourite features, does make you lazy though!!
