I beg to differ, I took the Cosworth out earlier and it's very quick at getting to the speed limit

For anyone who hasn't done the clear rear light cluster here is a bit of advice. Don't fanny around trying to paint the original bulb (like I did!). Replacement red bulbs (conventional and LED) are both available and are cheap as chips on eBay.

When washing the car today (bucket not jet wash) my new clear cluster has now got water in it!??..... Have I got a leaky one or have I missed something when fitting it!

When fitting one to my wife's hatch, I didn't fit the foam gasket and had just this. IIRC, the new cluster doesn't come with a new piece, so you have to re-use the one from the original.

Which bulb type do I need?
I think I'm tackling rear light job at some point this week.

Whats everyones preference with what induction kit to fit to a hatch sti ?

ive seen the AEM ones and also the cosworth ones but not sure what are the most common ones that most people are using.

This is for the start of my mods on my hatch along with a Andy F map and a Revolution 3 inch full decat and colder plugs.

Cheers

A good panel filter will see 400bhp. I wanted a nice induction roar so I fitted a Cosworth induction kit, which is actually made by K&N (its stamped on the hard pipe and the filter itself) I then later had to modify it and remove the nice divider/heat shield that came with it so i could fit the FMIC pipes.

With top mount.

It now sits in the wing because of the FMIC.

i will eventually be forging the car and was mainly looking for a intake kit just now so its something i don't need to buy later on , also the noise is what im after too.

I wasn't aware that panel filters could flow so much.

Interesting that the cosworth items are stamped K & N also.

cheers

Grant

Yes you must refit the foam to the new lamp if you don't it will suffer water ingression. I think When I spoke to John on the phone I pointed that one out. Usually gary deals with all the parts calls, just happened to be passing the desk that day and saw it sat there lol

Fitted some yellow fog overlays and an ultra racing strut brace this weekend.
Some people might not like the yellow overlay but I do for the time being and they can be easily removed if I get bored. I still need to get that engine bay cleaned properly!

I like the look of that cosworth filter ^^ , the other one that seems popular in the states is the AEM cold air intake but I currently get plenty of noise with a panel filter and silencer/snorkel removed.

Comes out with the airbox on the hatch, one small plastic screw/clip holds it to the box and then give it a twist and it pops off. Nice easy job.

No need to blank it off as it's before the filter. In theory it can suck some cooler air from the inner wing then similar to the cold air intakes. It probably makes hardly any difference in that respect but I should imagine some of the additional sound is coming out of there too.

For me there's more turbo spool, more recirc noise and a little bit of throaty'ness that wasn't there before when you step on it. OK it will never match a cone filter for sound but it's definitely noticeable.

Pic of mine from today, still haven't had chance to do any of the little jobs that need doing, but at least she was relatively clean.

Nice.

Do a search. I did a fitting guide how to fit the defusser. Don't forget to fit the O ring washer.
