That is so nice. I wish I could get away with that set-up over here/up here.
I thought nothing could match the black wheels but the white wheels with the blue looks great as well.
That could be because I am Scottish and I have always liked the blue and white of the national flag.

Do any of you guys use either of the modes other than S#

Our's is Deb's daily driver & I don't drive it much, been honest every time I jump in it the dial is turned to S# and left there whatever the trip, be interested in other opinions

I used to go between "i" on motorways in cruise control and s# everywhere else, then tried leaving it in s# all the time - no difference to mpg. After a year I am now bored with the "lets try to get >30mpg average per tank" game, as I have now fitted an extension on the accelerator pedal so I can heel and toe when changing down/braking, as I couldn't due to the big gap between acc/brake pedals + having relatively small feet (don't go there !!)

Blipping the throttle is expensive !
Now down to 27mpg average, but more fun.

Agree, doesn't seem to make much difference to the MPG either, think Si drive is a waste of time, just a gadget to talk about down the pub lol

Thanks for the reply's thought it was just me, best Si drive is still the old right foot

Totally agree. Why have an Impreza and not have max performance on tap at all times (doesn't mean you have to use it).

Money would have been better spent on the small mods needed to improve handling IMHO.

I can catagorically say now the US ipod kit doesnt work on the UK head unit.

Whetehr it can work, I dont know as that would mean pulling the head unit apart.

So looks like its aftermarket here I come!!! Bugger.... More cash.

Thanks for the update Simon.

Looks like I'm gonna have to go aftermarket again too then.

My si Drive does actually make a difference to the mpg, I mode Averages 35.9 mpg on a run but do the same run in sport # and the mpg drops to 18.7mpg now mines re-mapped so will probably function different to most on here

If you do a short "run" and give it some welly, mine (also re-mapped) will drop to that, but over a tankful of "mixed" driving, it still averages 27-30 typically, on s# all the time.
Max over a short run (8 miles) just after fill up was 39.9mpg !!!!!! Admittedly, quite a lot was a slight downhill slope ! Couldn't break into the 40's

tried to hit the 40s but its just a no-goer 35.9 is my maximum

It was over only about 8 miles, then it dropped slowly to the mid 30's then to the normal 30-ish over the whole tankful

The standard cars Si-drive only really changes the relationship between the accelerator pedal and the engine throttle. If you drive carefully in Sport# you should get almost the same mpg as the i-mode. It’s just that the i-mode makes it easier to drive in this manner.

Our new Eco remaps we are working on have proper map switching that completely changes most of the key ECU settings like ign, boost, AVCS and fueling. This means that i mode and Sport have completely different settings to Sport# in terms of ignition timing, boost, AVCS and fuelling. This combined with the new per gear boost control makes a significant improvement to driveability and economy.

I've just had my car mapped and CAI kit fitted by Iain and have to say it's absolutely fantastic.

I've got an 08 JDM STI and had some performance mods (including Milltek and remap) done elsewhere. I wanted the new software and map and so had the car at Litchfields last weekend and I cannot believe the difference. The induction kit looks and sounds fantastic- I'll try and post pics when I work out how- but the engine has been transformed. The response is superb and it's far less laggy, and that's only really playing in sport with a reduced 1 bar boost. Looking forward to an afternoon without the baby to try Sport+ and 1.5 bar.

I think everyone on here knows how expert Litchfields are but I have to echo that and I certainly won't be going anywhere else.

My plan now is a gradual upgrade to Type20 spec as and when money and the wife allow. I'll sort the pics and keep you posted.

Ok, todays job was to remove the center resonator with custom made pipe thanks to a certain member on here, great bit of kit and fitted perfectly!

Simple enough job and only took an hour or so and that was in the rain and ensuring there was no blowing, a few attempts and some gum gum later and job done.

I have 2 center pipes and a PPP backbox so cutting up one pipe was no problem as I always have a spare.

Not had a chance to drive myself yet to see what the noise is like but on tickover seems to be a bit more throaty and when the Mrs pulled off the drive earlier sounder much better and sure there was some burble.

When she gets home I'm sure I'll be told what she thinks!!

Anyway a couple of pics

Cheers
A

WRXD's, I've found out how to get rid of that useless 2nd gear...... Switch the traction control off

Its still limited, but you do get a bit more ooomph, sadly 1st is still as useless as ever.

Thanks for the explanation Iain, must confess until a couple of weeks ago I thought there were 3 seperate maps........then did some reading

See you on the 28th, Paul

Hey J B
Hey Johnny Boy

Sounds likes its Christmas all over again for you !

So 2nd remap - very different - what power increase ?

At 1.5 bar you must be north of 360... 370... or probably more.

Of course its about driveability, and the induction kit must make it 'better' for throttle control.

How did they map it ? all rolling road ? fine tweeks on the road ?

Would be interested to know PLEASE.

Cheers Apostle

Been making some decals
Trying to do a ken block dc shoes type look. but without making it look like a ken block car (now that that's been done)

Only cut these decals today and fitted them, I have got lots of others to do.

I managed to make the right type of script/font for the writting.

Don't forget you have to pay some kind of tax / import duty and a kind handling charge from the postman when he delivers them ............. con really but still better value than anything else available in the UK.

Apostle,

The Litchfield map is done by Iain using laptop and driving the car.
First one was on rolling road with printout etc but not great to drive. I'm miles happier this time although I don't know the actual output figures. In all honesty I don't really care as they vary massively between different rolling roads.

I'd suggest that if anyone has this done then this is the route to go- someone who knows the cars inside out, driving it and fine tuning as he goes along. Think Iain spent around 4/5 hours on it in the end but well worth it if you ask me.

CAI is just right as well, not intrusive but great little noises and has obviously helped performance a bit
