The New CBR is very nice.
OK, so following on from yesterdays discussion of LED reflectors for fogs, I took a couple of shots of mine when I got home tonight - not the best photo quality I admit, but good enough. First with brakes off and then with brakes on. As you can see they are every bit as bright, if not slightly brighter, than the brake lights.
These are the same ones as I posted the eBay item number for on the previous page. 330689901709 to save you looking!

They look smart actually! *Adds to ever growing list* :|
Speaking of which I ordered a few accesories from the dealer today, will I need to remove the front bumper to install the front fog lamp kit or can I do it with the car off the floor?

Ignore the instructions which tell you to remove the front bumper, Just simply unclip the wheel arch liner from the front bumper and pull it down so you can gain access to the rear of the bumper.Originally Posted by Jamie330S

20 mins should see the fog lamp kit fitted and set up

I made everything reversable i.e. where I had to cut wires and add splices, every tail has a one way connector on it. Reason being that if needs be I can simply unplug my loom that feeds the LED reflectors and then re-connect the single tails and it's all back to stock again.
As supplied, the LED reflectors are dual 'brightness' as they're really designed to be additional tail and brake lights - 3 wires, tail, brake and common earth. To use as fogs, just disregard the tail light wire and only connect the brake light wire and earth. My conversion also reconfigures the stock fog to second reverse light.
If there's enough interest I would be prepared to do a walk-through with pics etc.

thats a good idea if you don't ind.
I like the idea of them as extra brake/tail lights. Not so much as fog. IMO they wouldn't be bright enough.

Mine came off during the first frost after buying the car in 2010 and were "replaced" under warranty.Originally Posted by terzo98

I think the sticker spoils the clean black look.

They are definitely bright enough to use as fogs being every bit as bright as the brake lights. My MOT tester didn't bat an eyelid when he switched them on.Originally Posted by salsa-king

If you were going to use them as additional tail/brake lights then wiring them in would be much easier. Just run their cables up to the back of the existing tail/brake lights and tap into appropriate wiring.

Beleive it or not. Quite a lot if you fancy the window down a few inches at motorway speeds you get no wind noise at all. Or wet more to the point. I get them cheap lol. But £79.99 to me inc vatOriginally Posted by stevie1982

Rule number 1, always try where ever possible to have the car in a warm location, It makes the interior plastics less fragile and less susceptible to damageOriginally Posted by vulnax999
